Abstract
In an urban context, MICE is a multi-functional building consisting of several buildings in one area that accommodate several functions at once, usually commercial facilities which include meetings, intensives, conventions, exhibitions, as well as observation rooms, restaurants and parking. All of these functions are arranged sustainably in the form of a building to meet the needs of human life, create a special image and identity as well as maximum integration of all system elements in the building. Bandung has strong potential to host national and even international scale conventions and exhibitions. However, Bandung has limitations in increasing the construction of buildings related to community activities and international activities such as domestic and foreign meetings, exhibitions, etc. To resolve various problems that will be faced in the planning and design process, various design approaches are carried out, namely literature studies, field studies / comparative studies. Literature study and understanding of meaning and technical understanding as well as looking for examples of similar cases, by searching for theoretical data, such as standards and characteristics of design cases to then be used as a reference in design. Field studies were carried out to analyze the condition and potential of the site as well as the environmental conditions around the site. Comparative studies can carry out analysis of the results of field studies by studying the characteristics of each building in the surrounding area as a comparison material for the design process. The design result is a new design in the form of a MICE area as a facility for the KAI Corporate University area complex by combining convention and recreation functions. These two functions produce great harmony because they have one goal by prioritizing aspects equality towards society. The MICE planning and design uses a contemporary architectural theme that is appropriate to Indonesia today. Keywords: Mice, Contemporary, Kai Corporate University, Laswi Dalam konteks perkotaan, MICE merupakan sebuah Gedung yang multi fungsi yang terdiri dari beberapa bangunan dalam satu Kawasan yang menampung beberapa fungsi sekaligus, biasanya fasilitas komersial yang meliputi Meeting, Intensive, Convention, Exhibition, serta ruang observasi, restoran, dan parkir. Keseluruhan fungsi tersebut ditata secara berkesinambungan dalam bentuk suatu bangunan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan hidup manusia, menciptakan citra (image) dan identitas khusus serta keterpaduan maksimal seluruh elemen sistem dalam bangunan tersebut. Bandung memiliki potensi yang kuat untuk menjadi tuan rumah konvensi dan pameran berskala nasional bahkan internasional. Meskipun demikian, Bandung mempunyai keterbatasan untuk meningkatkan pembangunan gedung-gedung yang berhubungan dengan kegiatan masyarakat maupun kegiatan internasional seperti pertemuan dalam dan luar negeri, pameran, dan lain-lain. Untuk menyelesaikan berbagai permasalahan yang akan dihadapi dalam proses perencanaan dan perancangan dilakukan dengan berbagai pendekatan desain yaitu studi literatur, studi lapangan / studi banding. Kajian studi kepustakaan dan pemahaman makna serta pemahaman teknis serta mencari contoh kasus serupa, dengan melakukan pencarian data yang bersifat teoritis, seperti standar dan karakteristik kasus desain untuk kemudian digunakan sebagai acuan dalam desain. Studi lapangan dilakukan untuk menganalisis kondisi dan potensi tapak serta terhadap kondisi lingkungan sekitar tapak. Studi banding dapat melakukan analisis terhadap hasil studi lapangan dengan mempelajari karakteristik masing-masing bangunan yang ada disekitarnya segai bahan pembanding untuk proses perancangan. Hasil desain berupa desain baru yang berupa Kawasan MICE sebagai fasilitas dari kompleks Kawasan KAI Corporate University tersebut dengan memadukan fungsi konvensi dan rekreasi. Kedua fungsi tersebut menghasilkan keselarasan yang besar karena memiliki satu tujuan dengan mengedepankan aspek kesetaraan terhadapan masyarakat. Perencanaan dan Perancangan MICE tersebut menggunakan tema arsitektur kontemporer yang sesuai dengan negara Indonesia pada masa sekarang ini.
