Abstract

There are various types of education in parenting guidebooks. From commonplace things to sex education which is considered taboo by most Indonesians. Usually parents still think that talking about sex is prohibited for children, even though the phenomenon of sexual problems with children seems to attack every day. With this design, it is hoped that parents can provide understanding to children aged 9-12 years about sexual education that is appropriate to their respective age stages. This design provides a simple understanding of the parts of the body that should not be touched by other people as well as the physical differences between the female and male bodies during puberty. At this time, children can distinguish between gender differences and some children begin to like the opposite sex. The media that will be used is children's educational illustrated books. By using this media or which displays images of an object, it is hoped that it will make it easier for parents to explain understanding clearly to children. The use of illustrated story books is a medium that can create sexual attraction while increasing children's interest in reading regarding the information conveyed, namely education. Dari hal yang lumrah sampai edukasi seks yang dianggap tabu oleh sebagian besar masyarakat Indonesia. Biasanya orang tua masih menganggap bahwa pembicaraan seks adalah larangan untuk anak-anak, Padahal fenomena masalah seks terhadap anak seakan menyerang setiap harinya. Dengan adanya perancangan ini diharapkan orang tua dapat memberi pemahaman kepada anak berusia 9– 12 tahun tentang edukasi seksual yang sesuai dengan tahapan umur masing-masing. Perancangan ini memberikan pemahaman sederhana bagian-bagian tubuh yang tidak boleh disentuh oleh orang lain serta perbedaan fisik tubuh perempuan dan laki-laki pada masa puberitas. Pada masa ini anak sudah bisa membedakan perbedaan gender dan terdapat beberapa anak mulai menyukai lawan jenisnya. Media yang akan digunakan adalah menggunakan buku ilustrasi edukasi anak. Dengan menggunakan media ini atau yang menampilkan gambar suatu objek diharapkan dapat mempermudah orang tua menjelaskan pehamanan secara jelas kepada anak. Penggunaan buku cerita ilustrasi merupakan media yang dapat menciptakan daya tarik sekaligus meningkatkan minat baca anak terhadap informasi yang disampaikan yaitu Pendidikan seksual.
