Abstract
Some parents are tested by the presence of children with special needs in their lives. Children with special needs require special handling in order to optimize their potential and develop their life skills to become more independent. Receiving special therapy is one of the treatments that parents can choose for their children with special needs. This is a quantitative study that aims to determine the relationship between parental acceptance and social support with parental compliance (obedience) to the therapy schedule at Santia Purwakarta Clinic. Respondents in this study were 40 parents of patients at the Santia Purwakarta Clinic obtained by incidental sampling techniques. The instruments used in this study were obedience scale, Porter Parental Acceptance Scale (PPAS), and Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS). With the rankspearman correlation test, it was found that there was a significant positive relationship between parental acceptance and obedience to the therapy schedule with a correlation coefficient value 0,431. It is also known that there is a significant positive relationship between social support and obedience to the therapy schedule with a correlation coefficient of 0,708. Keywords : Child with Special Needs, Parental Acceptance, Social Support, Obedience Sebagian orang tua diuji dengan kehadiran anak berkebutuhan khusus (ABK) dalam kehidupannya. ABK memerlukan penanganan khusus dalam rangka mengoptimalkan potensi serta mengembangkan life skill yang dimilikinya agar menjadi lebih mandiri. Menjalani terapi khusus ABK adalah salah satu upaya penanganan yang bisa dipilih oleh orang tua. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara penerimaan orang tua dan dukungan sosial dengan kepatuhan orang tua ABK terhadap jadwal terapi di Klinik Santia Purwakarta. Responden pada penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 40 orang tua pasien di Klinik Santia purwakarta yang didapat dengan menggunakan teknik sampling insidental. Instrumen pada penelitian ini adalah skala kepatuhan (obedience), Porter Parental Acceptance Scale (PPAS), dan Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS). Dengan uji korelasi rank-spearman diketahui bahwa terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara penerimaan orang tua dengan kepatuhan terhadap jadwal terapi dengan angka koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,431. Diketahui juga bahwa terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara dukungan sosial dengan kepatuhan terhadap jadwal terapi dengan angka koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,708.
