Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is an influence of parenting style applied by parents on adolescent emotional intelligence. Parenting is essentially parental control, which means how parents supervise, teach, and support their children to complete their developmental responsibilities during the maturation process. Emotional Intelligence is the capacity to empathize with others, inspire oneself, and effectively control one's emotions both within oneself and in interpersonal relationships. The analysis technique used is a simple linear regression technique using the help of SPSS. The data collection technique uses the Accidental Sampling sample technique with a population and sample of 92 respondents. The results of this study showed that Authoritarian Parenting has an R Square value of 0.341 which means that Authoritarian Parenting is proven to affect emotional intelligence simultaneously by 34.1% and the remaining 65.9% is influenced by other factors that were not studied by researchers. Keywords: Parenting, Emotional Intelligence, Yout Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh pola asuh yang diterapkan orang tua terhadap kecerdasan emosional remaja. Pola asuh pada dasarnya adalah pengendalian orang tua, yang berarti bagaimana orang tua mengawasi, mengajar, dan mendukung anaknya untuk menyelesaikan tanggung jawab perkembangannya selama proses pendewasaan. Kecerdasan Emosional merupakan kapasitas untuk berempati dengan orang lain, menginspirasi diri sendiri, dan secara efektif mengendalikan emosi seseorang baik di dalam diri sendiri maupun dalam hubungan interpersonal. Teknik analisis yang digunakan yaitu teknik regresi linier sederhana dengan menggunakan bantuan SPSS. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik sampel Accidental Sampling dengan populasi dan sampel sebanyak 92 responden. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Pola Asuh Otoriter memiliki nilai R Square sebesar 0,341 yang berarti bahwa Pola Asuh Otoriter terbukti dapat memengaruhi kecerdasan emosional secara simultan sebesar 34,1% dan sisanya 65,9% dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor lainnya yang tidak diteliti oleh peneliti.
