Abstract

This research aims to analyze the framing of the news "case of police shooting police" in television news broadcasts by TVRI and KOMPAS TV in the period 12 August - 18 August 2022. The reason for choosing TVRI and KOMPAS TV as the media to be compared. The framing analysis is because TVRI and KOMPAS TV both broadcast news programs for the public interest. The theory used in this research is the theory of media framing analysis, according to Robert N. Entman framing is the process of selecting various realities so that certain parts of the event are more prominent than other parts. Zhongdan Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki say that framing is a strategy for constructing and processing news. Cognitive devices used in coding information, interpreting events and connected with routines and conventions of news formation. This research was carried out using a data analysis method using Zhongdan Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki's framing analysis with a qualitative approach using four structures, namely syntactic structure, script structure, thematic structure and rhetorical structure. The results of the framing of the TVRI broadcast showed seven frames, namely the involvement of Komnas HAM, the confession of case engineering by Ferdy Sambo, LPSK which granted Bharada E's request to become Justice Collaborator, the crime scene investigation carried out by the Police, Komnas HAM and other related parties, the alleged bribery of Ferdy Sambo which has been verified by the Corruption Eradication Commission, the family's denial of allegations of sexual harassment by Brigadier Yoshua against Putri Candrawati, and the police statement regarding the results of Purti Candrawati's examination. The results of the framing of the Kompas TV broadcast were seven frames, namely the involvement of Komnas HAM, Ferdy Sambo's scenario for the failed murder of Brigadier Yoshua, LPSK granting Bharada E's application to become Justice Collaborator, Investigation of the Crime Scene by Komnas HAM, Ferdy Sambo's 'Thick Envelope' to LPSK, Brigadier's Case Yoshua is a momentum to build public trust in the National Police, and the agenda for examining Princess Candrawati by Timsus Based on the research results, it can be concluded that audio and visual these two media have different broadcast patterns, TVRI tends to often repeat the same visuals even though they contain different news audio, such as one news story and another, so that TVRI news broadcast images seem monotonous and less varied. Meanwhile, Kompas TV provides dynamic visuals and audio for each story, giving the impression that news updates are very fast. Keywords: Framing Analysis, News Broadcasts, Shooting Cases, TVRI, Kompas TV Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis framing pemberitaan “kasus polisi tembak polisi” dalam tayangan berita televisi TVRI dengan KOMPAS TV pada periode 12 Agustus – 18 Agustus 2022. Alasan pemilihan TVRI dan KOMPAS TV sebagai media yang dibandingkan Analisa framing-nya adalah karena TVRI dan KOMPAS TV sama-sama menyiarkan program berita untuk kepentingan publik. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori analisis framing media, menurut Robert N. Entman framing adalah proses seleseksi dari berbagai realitas sehingga bagian tertentu dari peristiwa itu lebih menonjol dibandingkan dengan bagian lain. Zhongdan Pan dan Gerald M. Kosicki menyebutkan bahwa framing adalah strategi konstruksi dan memproses berita. Perangkat kognisi yang digunakan dalam mengkode informasi, menafsirkan peristiwa dan dihubungkan dengan rutinitas dan konvensi pembentukan berita. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode analisis data dengan analisis framing Zhongdan Pan dan Gerald M. Kosicki dengan pendekatan kualitatif melalui empat struktur yaitu struktur sintaksis, struktur skrip, struktur tematik, dan struktur retoris. Hasil framing tayangan TVRI didapatkan tujuh frame, yaitu keterlibatan Komnas HAM, pengakuan rekayasa kasus oleh Ferdy Sambo, LPSK yang mengabulkan permohonan Bharada E menjadi Justice Collaborator, olah TKP yang dilakukan oleh pihak Kepolisan, Komnas HAM, dan pihak terkait lainnya, dugaan suap Ferdy Sambo yang telah diverifikasi oleh KPK, bantahan keluarga atas tuduhan pelecehan seksual yang dilakukan Brigadir Yoshua kepada Putri Candrawati, dan keterangan polisi atas hasil pemeriksaan Purti Candrawati. Hasil framing tayangan Kompas TV didapatkan tujuh frame, yaitu keterlibatan Komnas HAM, skenario Ferdy Sambo atas pembunuhan Brigadir Yoshua yang gagal, LPSK menganulkan permohonan Bharada E menjadi Justice Collaborator, Penelusuran TKP oleh Komnas HAM, ‘Amplop Tebal’ Ferdy Sambo ke LPSK, Kasus Brigadir Yoshua merupakan momentum untuk bangun kepercayaan masyarakat terhadap Polri, dan Agenda pemeriksaan Putri Candrawati oleh Timsus. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa secara audio dan visual kedua media ini memiliki pola tayangan yang berbeda, TVRI Cenderung sering mengulang visual yang sama walaupun berisikan audio berita yang berbeda seperti antara satu berita dan berita lainya sehingga gambar tayangan berita TVRI terkesan monoton dan kurang variative. Sementara Kompas TV setiap beritanya menghadirkan visual dan audio yang dinamis sehingga terkesan pembaharuan pada berita sangat cepat.
