Abstract

Along with the development of all aspects of life both socially, economically and politically, an effort is needed to accommodate the running of industries engaged in the arts, especially performing arts. Based on the 2019 statistics from the Ministry of Education and Culture, there is a growth rate for performing arts activities in Indonesia. Since 2018 performing arts have increased by 50% and are increasing from year to year. Specifically, theatrical performing arts is a drama staging art that displays human behavior followed by movement, dance, and singing which are presented complete with dialogue and acting. Of course, with the development of performing arts in Jakarta, a facility is needed as a place to accommodate the works of theater artists. One of the performance halls located in Jakarta is the Graha Bhakti Budaya building. The Graha Bhakti Budaya building is part of a cultural center in Jakarta with the function of this building being a space for expression. Because of that the theme that will be used in this design process is expressive. This theme also goes hand in hand with the Graha Bhakti Budaya building which has a modern style. Then for the image concept, use contemporary to support the expressive theme that will be applied to this design. Keywords: Theatre, Graha Bhakti Budaya, Expressive, Modern, Contemporary Seiring dengan berkembangnya segala aspek kehidupan baik secara sosial, ekonomi, dan politik, diperlukan sebuah upaya untuk mengakomodir jalannya industri yang bergerak di bidang kesenian, terutama seni pertunjukan. Berdasarkan statistik tahun 2019 Kementrian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan, terdapat angka pertumbuhan terhadap kegiatan seni pertunjukan di Indonesia. Semenjak tahun 2018 seni pertunjukan sudah meningkat sebanyak 50% dan semakin bertambah dari tahun ke tahun. Secara spesifik seni pertunjukan teater tersebut merupakan sebuah seni pementasan drama yang menampilkan perilaku manusia diikuti dengan gerak, tari, serta nyanyian yang disajikan lengkap dengan dialog dan akting. Tentunya dengan semakin berkembangnya seni pertunjukan di Jakarta, diperlukan sebuah fasilitas sebagai wadah untuk menampung karya-karya para seniman teater. Salah satu gedung pertunjukan yang terletak di Jakarta adalah gedung Graha Bhakti Budaya. Gedung Graha Bhakti Budaya sebagai bagian dari pusat kebudayaan di Jakarta dengan fungsi dari gedung ini adalah sebagai ruang berekspresi. Karena itu tema yang akan digunakan dalam proses perancangan ini adalah expressive. Tema ini juga berjalan beriringan dengan gedung Graha Bhakti Budaya yang memiliki gaya modern. Kemudian untuk konsep citra menggunakan kontemporer untuk mendukung tema ekspresif yang akan diaplikasikan pada perancangan ini.
