Abstract

TikTok is one of the social media that is widely used by students. This application, which contains videos with a duration of 15 seconds to 10 minutes, has various kinds of interesting content in it. Young people, especially students, watch TikTok for various reasons, one of which is looking for creative inspiration. For this reason, this research aims to determine the influence of TikTok video content on creative inspiration in Broadcasting students at Mercu Buana University 2020. The theory used in this research is the Uses and Effect theory which assumes that the relationship between mass communication delivered through mass media has an effect on users of the mass media. This is the basis that creative inspiration is an effect that occurs after students watch videos on the TikTok application This research uses an explanatory quantitative approach with a survey data collection method using a questionnaire. The population in this study were Broadcasting 2020 students at Mercu Buana University with a sample of 101 respondents taken using a saturated sampling technique. Based on the Likert Scale used in this research, it can be seen that creative inspiration in Broadcasting students is high/positive with a score of 76 percent. The correlation test in this study shows a figure of 0.689, meaning the correlation is quite strong. The significance value also shows 0.000<0.05, so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning that there is a significant relationship between the influence of TikTok video content and creative inspiration in students because the correlation value is positive. The beta coefficient results show a positive 0.689 and are significant. It can be concluded that there is an influence between TikTok video content and creative inspiration among UMB Broadcasting 2020 students. Keywords: TikTok Video, Creative Inspiration, Teori Uses and Effect, Quantive TikTok merupakan salah satu media sosial yang banyak digunakan oleh mahasiswa. Aplikasi yang berisikan video dengan durasi15 detik sampai 10 menit ini memiliki berbagai macam konten menarik di dalamnya. Anak muda khususnya mahasiswa menonton TikTok untuk berbagai macam alas an salah satunya adalah mencari inspirasi berkreativitas. Oleh karena itulah penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konten video TikTok terhadap inspirasi berkreativitas pada mahasiswa Broadcasting Universitas Mercu Buana 2020. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori Uses and Effect yang mengasumsikan bahwa hubungan antara komunikasi massa yang disampaikan melalui media massa, yang menimbulkan sebuah efek bagi pengguna media massa tersebut. Hal ini lah yang melandaskan bahwa inspirasi berkreativitas merupakan sebuah efek yang ditimbulkan setelah mahasiswa menonton video pada aplikasi TikTok Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif eksplanatif dengan metode pengumpulan data survei menggunakan kuesioner. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Broadcasting 2020 Universitas Mercu Buana dengan sampel sebanyak 101 responden yang diambil menggunakan Teknik sampling jenuh. Berdasarkan Skala Likert yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini, dapat diketahui bahwa inspirasi berkreativitas pada mahasiswa Broadcasting bernilai tinggi/positif dengan nilai 76 persen. Uji korelasi dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan angka 0,689 artinya korelasi tersebut cukup kuat. Nilai signifikasi pun menunjukkan 0,000<0,05 maka Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima, artinya bahwa ada hubungan signifikan antara pengaruh konten video TikTok dan inspirasi berkreativitas pada mahasiswa karena nilai korelasinya adalah positif. Hasil koefisien beta menunjukkan positif 0,689 dan signifikan. Hal ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh antara konten video TikTok dengan inspirasi berkreativitas pada mahasiswa UMB Broadcasting 2020.
