Abstract

The existence of Work From Home (WFH) and School From Home (SFH) activities during the Covid-19 pandemic has made operators compete to produce good quality services to support these activities. This causes a large bandwidth requirement to access supporting applications for WFH and SFH. To deal with these problems, efficient use of the frequency spectrum is carried out. With the development of LTE-Advanced services supported by the carrier aggregation feature, it is possible to increase network capacity by utilizing available bandwidth. Because this technique can cause interference, it is combined with the soft frequency reuse method as interference management. In this Final Project, LTE-Advanced network planning is carried out using the carrier aggregation feature by combining the frequencies of 1800 MHz and 2100 MHz, each of which has a bandwidth of 10 MHz and combining it with the soft frequency reuse method by taking into account the initial conditions of the network in the research area, namely Kebayoran Lama Jakarta. South. The simulation of this application is carried out using Atoll 3.3 software with reference to RF parameters, namely, RSRP, SINR, throughput, and the percentage of user connected usage. This final project produces an effect on the performance of the LTE-Advanced network with the application of CA and SFR. The average final RSRP result is -85.19 dBm, which is better than the CA scenario, the SINR is 7.63 dB and the throughput increases to 16.67 Mbps, which in CA conditions only gets 10.72 Mbps. This is followed by an increase in user connected by 419 users compared to the CA scenario. Keywords: Bandwidth, Carrier Aggregation, LTE-Advanced, RSRP, SINR, soft frequency reuse, throughput, and user connected Adanya kegiatan Work From Home (WFH) dan School From Home (SFH) saat pandemi Covid-19 ini membuat operator berlomba-lomba untuk menghasilkan kualitas layanan yang baik guna mendukung kegiatan tersebut. Hal ini menyebabkan kebutuhan bandwidth yang besar untuk mengakses aplikasi pendukung untuk WFH dan SFH. Untuk menangani permasalahan tersebut, dilakukan pemanfaatan spektrum frekuensi secara efisien. Dengan dikembangkannya layanan LTE-Advanced didukung fitur carrier aggregation memungkinan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas jaringan dengan pemanfaatan bandwidth yang tersedia. Dikarenakan teknik tersebut dapat mengakibatkan interferensi, maka dikombinasikan dengan metode soft frequency reuse sebagai manajemen interferensi. Pada Tugas Akhir ini dilakukan perencanaan jaringan LTE-Advanced menggunakan fitur carrier aggregation dengan menggabungkan frekuensi 1800 MHz dan 2100 MHz yang masing-masing memiliki bandwidth sebesar 10 MHz serta mengkombinasikan dengan metode soft frequency reuse dengan memperhatikan kondisi awal jaringan di wilayah penelitian yaitu Kebayoran Lama Jakarta Selatan. Simulasi penerapan ini dilakukan menggunakan software Atoll 3.3 dengan acuan parameter RF yaitu, RSRP, SINR, throughput, dan presentase penggunaan user connected. Tugas Akhir ini menghasilkan pengaruh terhadap performansi jaringan LTE-Advanced dengan penerapan CA dan SFR. Rata-rata hasil akhir RSRP didapat sebesar -85.19 dBm lebih baik dibandingkan dengan hanya skenario CA, SINR didapat 7.63 dB dan throughput meningkat menjadi 16.67 Mbps yang mana pada kondisi CA hanya mendapat 10.72 Mbps. Hal ini diikuti dengan peningkatan user connected sebanyak 419 user daripada skenario CA.
