Abstract

New normal is a change for someone to continue carrying out normal activities in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic by implementing health protocols when carrying out activities outside the home. Conditions like this can increase a person's workload. Work engagement can help someone in managing stress on work pressure in this new normal era. This study aims to determine whether job crafting acts as a mediator between career competencies and work engagement among employees in the new normal era. The research design in this study was carried out by mediation using accidental sampling technique. The subjects of this study were workers who worked in the new normal era. The mediation regression analysis in this study used the PROCESS V3.5 Procedure for SPSS by Andrew F. Hayes. The results showed that job crafting has a role as a mediator in the relationship between career competencies and work engagement, this shows that the impact of career competencies and work engagement will increase with job crafting. This research is expected to be a reference for companies and employees regarding the importance of understanding the values of career competencies, job crafting, and work engagement so that they can understand the competence and creativity of employees in order to increase their engagement. Keyword : Career competencies, Job crafting, work engagement, New normal, workers New normal merupakan perubahan bagi seseorang untuk tetap melaksanakan aktivitas normal di tengah pandemi covid-19 dengan menerapkan protokol kesehatan ketika menjalankan aktivitas di luar rumah. Kondisi seperti ini bisa meningkatkan beban kerja seseorang. Work engagement dapat membantu seseorang dalam mengelola stres pada tekanan kerja di era new normal ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah job crafting berperan sebagai mediator antara career competencies dan work engagement pada pekerja di era new normal. Desain penelitian dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan mediasi menggunakan teknik accidental sampling. Subjek penelitian ini adalah para pekerja yang bekerja di era new normal. Analisa regresi mediasi dalam penelitian ini menggunakan PROCESS V3.5 Procedure for SPSS oleh Andrew F. Hayes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa job crafting memiliki peran sebagai mediator dalam hubungan career competencies dan work engagement, hal ini menunjukkan bahwa dampak dari career competencies dan work engagement akan semakin meningkat dengan adanya job crafting. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi acuan bagi perusahaan dan pekerja mengenai pentingnya memahami nilai-nilai pada career competencies, job crafting, dan work engagement sehingga dapat memahami kompetensi dan kreativitas yang dimiliki pekerja guna untuk meningkatkan engagement mereka.
