Abstract

Construction growth is currently running very fast, a number of studies are carried out to produce the right construction technology. This study aims to reduce waste and preserve nature where the alternative material used in this study uses coconut shell charcoal ash as a substitute for fine aggregate (sand) in the concrete mixture. The research phase begins with material preparation, testing of coarse aggregate (gravel), testing of fine aggregate (sand) and cement, after fulfilling the requirements, a concrete mixture is made with the addition of shell charcoal ash as a substitute for fine aggregate (sand) with a variation of 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. The method used was in accordance with SNI 2656-2012 and the results showed that the normal compressive strength of concrete at the age of 7 days was 19.2 Mpa, the compressive strength at the age of 14 days was 23.7 Mpa and the compressive strength at 28 days was 26.4 Mpa. After the addition of shell charcoal ash to the concrete mixture as a sand substitute, the maximum strength was obtained at a variation of 5%, namely at the age of 7 days of 17.6 Mpa, at the age of 14 days at 23.1 Mpa and at 28 days at 26.2 Mpa. The decrease in strength occurred in the 10%-100% variation which obtained a minimum strength of 0.9 Mpa at the age of 7 days, 1.5 Mpa at the age of 14 days and 2.3 Mpa at the age of 28 days at the 100% variation. Keywords : Concrete, Compressive Strength, Coconut Shell Charcoal Pertumbuhan kontruksi pada saat ini berjalan dengan sangat cepat, sejumlah penelitian dilakukan untuk menghasilkan teknologi kontruksi yang tepat. Pada penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengurangi limbah dan melestarikan alam dimana bahan alternative yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini memakai abu arang batok kelapa sebagai pengganti agregat halus (pasir) dalam campuran beton. Tahap penelitian dimulai dengan persiapan material, pengujian agregat kasar (kerikil), pengujian agregat halus (pasir) dan semen, setelah memenuhi syarat dilakukan pembuatan campuran beton dengan tambahan abu arang batok sebagai subtitusi agregat halus (pasir) dengan variasi 0%,5%,10%,15%,25%,50%,75% dan 100%. Metode yang digunakan sesuai dengan SNI 2656-2012 dan di dapat hasil Kuat tekan beton normal pada umur 7 hari sebesar 19,2 Mpa, kuat tekan pada umur 14 hari sebesar 23,7 Mpa dan kuat tekan umur 28 hari sebesar 26,4 Mpa. Setelah penambahan abu arang batok kepada campuran beton sebagai subtitusi pasir didapat kekuatan maksimum di variasi 5% yaitu di umur 7 hari sebesar 17,6 Mpa, umur 14 hari sebesar 23,1 Mpa dan umur 28 hari sebesar 26,2 Mpa. Penurunan kekuatan terjadi pada variasi 10%-100% yang didapat minimum kekuatannya sebesar 0,9 Mpa pada umur 7 hari, 1,5 Mpa pada umur 14 hari dan 2.3 Mpa pada umur 28 hari pada variasi 100%.
