Abstract

Clay shale is the arrangement of rocks loam that has a value of shear strength is quite high but if the soil is already exposed to the weather outside it will have a very significant decrease (Alatas & Simatupang, 2017). If a ground force experienced critical then it will pose a potential landslide on the slopes of a large enough because the value of the power sliding will quickly decline. Some of the characteristics of the soil clay shale that need to be considered, namely by performing tests such as residual shear strength, swelling, disintegration and degree of saturation. Where the value of this test will subsequently be inputted into the software Plaxis and then analyzed to determine how the optimal slope of clay shale and search for variables that influence factors such security. From this study the results obtained in the form of the value of the safety factor of the slope 0o on the method of Mohr-Coloumb the largest of 1,848, method of Hardening Soil biggest amounted to 1,830, and the method of Soft Soil biggest of 1,811. While the Value of the safety factor of the slope of the 5o on the method of Mohr-Coloumb the largest of 1,559, method of Hardening the Soil of 1,554, and on the method of Soft Soil biggest of 1,553. At the point the slope of the 0o value of FS = 1 there is at a horizontal distance of 25 meters with a thickness of clay shale 6 meters. While on a slope of 5o the value of FS is close to 1 there is at a horizontal distance of 40 with a thickness of clay shale 4 meters. Keywords : Clay shale, Safety Factor, and Residual Clay shale merupakan susunan dari batuan lempung yang memiliki nilai kekuatan geser yang cukup tinggi tetapi jika tanah tersebut sudah terekspos dengan cuaca luar maka akan mengalami penurunan yang sangat signifikan (Alatas & Simatupang, 2017). Jika suatu kekuatan tanah mengalami kritis maka akan menimbulkan potensi longsor pada lereng yang cukup besar karena nilai kekuatan gesernya akan cepat menurun. Beberapa karakteristik tanah clay shale yang perlu diperhatikan yaitu dengan melakukan pengujian seperti residual shear strength, swelling, disintegrasi dan derajat kejenuhan. Dimana nilai dari pengujian ini selanjutnya akan diinput ke dalam software Plaxis dan kemudian dianalisis untuk mengetahui berapa kemiringan optimal dari tanah clay shale dan mencari variabel apa saja yang mempengaruhi faktor keamanan tersebut. Dari penelitian ini didapat hasil berupa nilai faktor keamanan dengan kemiringan 0o pada motode Mohr-Coloumb terbesar sebesar 1,848, motode Hardening Soil terbesar sebesar 1,830, dan motode Soft Soil terbesar pada sebesar 1,811. Sedangkan Nilai faktor keamanan dengan kemiringan 5o pada motode Mohr-Coloumb terbesar sebesar 1,559, motode Hardening Soil terbesar sebesar 1,554, dan pada motode Soft Soil terbesar pada sebesar 1,553. Pada titik kemiringan 0o nilai FS = 1 terdapat pada jarak horizontal 25 meter dengan ketebalan clay shale 6 meter. Sedangkan pada titik kemiringan 5 o nilai FS mendekati 1 terdapat pada jarak horizontal 40 dengan ketebalan clay shale 4 meter. Kata Kunci : Clay shale, Faktor Keamanan, dan Residual
