Abstract

The cultural center is one of the places that people from all walks of life are interested in to gain knowledge and recognize various kinds of traditions. The cultural center facilitates as comfortable a space as possible to be accessed by all visitors, both the general public and users with disabilities. Circulation in the building also affects visitors to feel comfortable when accessing the room. However, it is common to find several cultural center building facilities that do not accommodate disabled users in space circulation. Thus, users with disabilities have difficulty accessing the space. Erasmus Huis is a Dutch cultural center located in Kuningan Timur, Setiabudi, DKI Jakarta. Erasmus Huis is one of the cultural centers that many people are interested in visiting during events. This design shows the data used to meet universal design standards that support the needs of persons with disabilities, especially wheelchair users. This study used a descriptive qualitative method, in which researchers obtained data by field survey at the Erasmus Huis building and collected data to explain the reasons for the research. The results of the discussion from this study explain that the use of circulation paths in the Erasmus Huis library has not fully implemented the concept of universal design to accommodate users with disabilities. Pusat kebudayaan menjadi salah satu tempat yang diminati masyarakat dari semua kalangan untuk memperoleh ilmu dan mengenali berbagai macam tradisi. Pusat kebudayaan memfasilitasi ruangan senyaman mungkin untuk diakses oleh semua pengunjung baik masyarakat umum maupun pengguna disabilitas. Sirkulasi dalam gedung juga mempengaruhi pengunjung untuk merasa nyaman ketika sedang mengakses ruang. Akan tetapi, sering ditemui beberapa fasilitas gedung pusat kebudayaan yang tidak mengakomodir pengguna disabilitas pada sirkulasi ruang. Sehingga, pengguna disabilitas kesulitan untuk mengakses ruang tersebut. Erasmus Huis adalah pusat kebudayaan Belanda yang berlokasi di Kuningan Timur, Setiabudi, DKI Jakarta. Erasmus Huis menjadi salah satu pusat kebudayaan yang banyak diminati masyarakat untuk berkunjung saat pergelaran acara. Perancangan ini menunjukkan data yang digunakan untuk memenuhi standar desain universal yang menunjang kebutuhan disabilitas terutama pengguna kursi roda. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif, dimana peneliti memperoleh data secara survey lapangan di gedung Erasmus Huis dan dilakukannya pengumpulan data untuk dijabarkan sebab dari penelitian. Hasil pembahasan dari penelitian ini menjelaskan tentang penggunaan jalur sirkulasi yang terdapat pada perpustakaan Erasmus Huis belum sepenuhnya menerapkan konsep desain universal untuk mengakomodir pengguna disabilitas.
