Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between work life balance and achievement motivation in career women. The quantitative study was carried out using two survey instruments. The Work Life Balance instrument Fisher et al. (2009) will measure the work life balance in this study by presenting 17 statements. Achievement Motivation Instruments Schuler et al. (2004) through a short version with 17 statements will be used to measure achievement motivation in this study. Respondents in this study were 105 people. This research uses nonprobability sampling method. The sample population includes women who work more than 40 hours per week at PT. AJ Manulife Indonesia DMTM business units in Central Jakarta and South Tangerang who are willing to voluntarily participate in this research. Based on the results of the product moment correlation analysis, work life balance with achievement motivation has a correlation coefficient of 0.592 which falls into the medium category with a significance of 0.000. The results of Pearson correlation analysis found a statistically significant relationship between the two variables. Based on the results of the positive correlation, it means that the higher perception of work life balance, the higher achievement motivation for career women. Vice versa, the lower perception of work life balance, the lower achievement motivation for career women. Keywords : work life balance, achievement motivation, career women Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui hubungan antara work life balance dan motivasi berprestasi pada wanita karier. Studi kuantitatif dilakukan dengan menggunakan dua instrumen survei. Instrumen Work Life Balance Fisher dkk. (2009) akan mengukur work life balance dalam penelitian ini dengan menampilkan 17 pernyataan. Instrumen Motivasi Berprestasi Schuler dkk. (2004) melalui versi pendek dengan 17 pernyataan akan digunakan untuk mengukur motivasi berprestasi dalam penelitian ini. Responden dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 105 orang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode nonprobability sampling. Populasi sampel termasuk wanita yang bekerja dengan jam kerja lebih dari 40 jam per minggu di PT. AJ Manulife Indonesia unit bisnis DMTM Jakarta Pusat dan Tangerang Selatan yang bersedia berpartisipasi secara sukarela dalam penelitian ini. Berdasarkan hasil analisis korelasi product moment, work life balance dengan motivasi berprestasi memiliki koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,592 yang masuk kedalam kategori sedang dengan signifikansi sebesar 0,000. Hasil analisis korelasi Pearson menemukan hubungan yang signifikan antara kedua variabel secara statistik. Berdasarkan hasil korelasi positif tersebut artinya semakin tinggi persepsi work life balance maka semakin tinggi juga motivasi berprestasi pada wanita karir. Begitu pun sebaliknya semakin rendah persepsi work life balance maka semakin rendah juga motivasi berprestasi pada wanita karier. Kata Kunci : work life balance, motivasi berprestasi, wanita karir
