Abstract

Teenagers are one of the human resources, which are also an asset for the future of the Indonesian nation. Teenagers are social creatures, where they live in groups and need each other so that interaction or communication occurs. Communication is a medium that can make it easier for humans to interact, with the aim of being able to convey the aims and objectives that want to be conveyed. Assertive behavior has an important role in development during adolescence, where it can make it easier to socialize in the environment, can avoid conflicts due to being honest and frank, and teenagers can solve their own problems. The subjects of this research were SMAIT Asyu-Syukriyyah students. The results of the research show that there is an influence of SelfConcept on students' Assertive Behavior. It is hoped that this research can be a reference for schools and teachers regarding the importance of understanding and applying Self-Concept and Assertive Behavior so that they can improve a good Self-Concept. Keywords: Assertive Behavior, Self-Concept, Gender, Adolescents Remaja adalah satu dari sumber daya manusia, dimana juga merupakan aset masa depan bangsa Indonesia. Remaja adalah makhluk sosial, dimana mereka hidup berkelompok dan saling membutuhkan sehingga terjadi sebuah interaksi atau komunikasi. Komunikasi merupakan media yang dapat mempermudah manusia berinteraksi, yang bertujuan untuk dapat menyampaikan maksud dan tujuan yang ingin disampaikan. Perilaku Asertif memiliki peran yang cukup penting di dalam perkembangan di masa remaja, dimana dapat memudahkan dalam bersosialisasi di lingkungan, dapat menghindari terjadinya konflik akibat bersikap jujur serta terus terang, dan remaja dapat menyelesaikan permasalahannya sendiri. Subjek penelitian ini adalah para siswa SMAIT Asyu-Syukriyyah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya pengaruh Konsep Diri terhadap Perilaku Asertif siswa. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi acuan bagi sekolah dan guru mengenai pentingnya memahami dan menerapkan Konsep Diri dan Perilaku Asertif sehingga dapat meningkatkan Konsep Diri yang baik.
