Abstract

The Central Cimahi region is a sub-district located in Cimahi City, West Java. Based on OSS data analysis, it can be seen that the average use of resource blocks in the Central Cimahi area is 85.296%, this figure almost reaches the H3I operator standard limit of 90%. This indicates that the demand for network capacity continues to increase in the region, resulting in low throughput received. To overcome these problems, in this final project, carrier aggregation planning is carried out as the main feature of LTE-Advanced. Carrier aggregation is a technique to combine two or more component carriers together either on the same frequency band or on different frequency bands to increase throughput. In this final project, two component carriers are combined, namely at a bandwidth of 10 MHz in band 3 (1800 MHz) and a bandwidth of 10 MHz in band 1 (2100 MHz). The simulation was carried out in two scenarios. The first scenario with 1800 MHz cell as the Primary Component Carrier. While in the second scenario, the 2100 MHz cell is the Primary Component Carrier. Based on the planning simulation using Atoll 3.3 software, it is known that carrier aggregation can increase the average RSRP to -86.17 dBm with a percentage increase of 6.58%, the average SINR to 20.64 dB with a percentage increase of 71.43 %, and throughput to 4,465.45 kbps with a percentage increase of 114.43%. Keywords: LTE-Advanced, carrier aggregation, RSRP, SINR, and throughput Wilayah Cimahi Tengah merupakan kecamatan yang berada di Kota Cimahi, Jawa Barat. Berdasarkan analisis data OSS dapat diketahui rata-rata penggunaan resource block di wilayah Cimahi Tengah yaitu 85,296%, angka tersebut hampir mencapai batas standar operator H3I yaitu 90%. Hal ini mengindikasikan kebutuhan kapasitas jaringan terus meningkat di wilayah tersebut sehingga berdampak pada rendahnya throughput yang diterima. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, maka pada tugas akhir ini dilakukan perencanaan carrier aggregation sebagai fitur utama pada LTE-Advanced. Carrier aggregation merupakan suatu teknik untuk menggabungkan dua atau lebih component carrier secara bersamaan baik pada band frekuensi yang sama maupun pada band frekuensi yang berbeda untuk meningkatkan throughput. Pada tugas akhir ini digabungkan dua buah component carrier, yaitu pada bandwidth 10 MHz di band 3 (1800 MHz) dan bandwidth 10 MHz di band 1 (2100 MHz). Simulasi dilakukan dengan dua skenario. Skenario pertama dengan cell 1800 MHz sebagai Primary Component Carrier. Sedangkan pada skenario kedua, cell 2100 MHz sebagai Primary Component Carrier. Berdasarkan simulasi perencanaan menggunakan software Atoll 3.3, diketahui dengan adanya carrier aggregation dapat meningkatkan rata-rata RSRP menjadi -86,17 dBm dengan persentase kenaikan sebesar 6,58%, rata-rata SINR menjadi 20,64 dB dengan persentase kenaikan sebesar 71,43%, dan throughput menjadi 4.465,45 kbps dengan persentase kenaikan sebesar 114,43%.
