Abstract

Indonesia is a developing country with the construction sector, the growth and development that is happening so rapidly. Thus, construction that occurs in Indonesia cannot be separated from the use of concrete materials. The increasing demand for concrete in the construction industry has led to the mining of concrete constituents on a larger scale and led to a decrease in the amount of natural resources available for concrete purposes. Therefore, the emergence of innovation in the replacement of concrete mix ingredients, one of which is the use of waste. In this study, the use of fly ash and blood clam shells as a partial substitute for cement and fine aggregate. This is because both of these wastes have not been utilized optimally. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of concrete with partial substitution of fly ash and clam shells in cement and fine aggregate on compressive strength, slump and absorption capacity of concrete. This research refers to SNI 7656-2012 for concrete mix design. The results of consecutive 28-day age tests for normal concrete variations, BKF 5%, BKF 7.5%, and BKF 10% are 25,84 Mpa; 29,28 MPa; 27,15 MPa; dan 24,92 MPa. The results of the slump test successively for normal concrete variations, BKF 5%, BKF 7.5%, and BKF 10% were 80 mm; 85 mm; 100 mm; and 76 mm. The results of the concrete absorption capacity test at 28 days of age successively for normal concrete variations, BKF 5%, BKF 7.5%, and BKF 10% were 2.81%; 2.85%; 2.79%; and 2;72%. The use of fly ash of 20% by weight of cement and the use of blood clam shells of 5% (BKF 5%) and 7.5% (BKF 7,5%) were considered effective because they were able to achieve the design quality compressive strength (25 MPa). In addition, the use of 20% fly ash with 5% blood clam shells (BKF 5%) produces the most optimum compressive strength value. Indonesia merupakan negara yang masuk dalam kategori berkembang dengan bidang konstruksi, serta pertumbuhan dan perkembangan yang terjadi begitu pesat. Sehingga, pembangunan yang terjadi di Indonesia tidak lepas dari pemakaian material beton. Meningkatnya permintaan beton di industri konstruksi menyebabkan penambangan bahan penyusun beton dalam skala yang lebih besar dan menimbulkan turunnya jumlah sumber daya alam yang ada untuk keperluan pembetonan. Maka dari itu, timbulnya inovasi dalam pergantian bahan campuran beton, salah satunya ialah penggunaan limbah. Dalam penelitian ini, adanya penggunaan fly ash dan cangkang kerang darah sebagai pengganti parsial semen dan agregat halus. Sebab, kedua limbah ini belum termanfaatkan secara optimum. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis karakteristik beton dengan substitusi parsial fly ash dan cangkang kerang darah pada semen dan agregat halus terhadap kuat tekan, slump dan daya serap beton. Penelitian ini mengacu kepada SNI 7656-2012 untuk mix design beton. Hasil pengujian umur 28 hari secara berturut-turut untuk variasi beton normal, BKF 5%, BKF 7,5%, dan BKF 10% sebesar 25,84 Mpa; 29,28 MPa; 27,15 MPa; dan 24,92 MPa. Hasil pengujian slump secara berturut-turut untuk variasi beton normal, BKF 5%, BKF 7,5%, dan BKF 10% sebesar 80 mm; 85 mm; 100 mm; dan 76 mm. Hasil pengujian daya serap beton pada umur 28 hari secara berturut-turut untuk variasi beton normal, BKF 5%, BKF 7,5%, dan BKF 10% sebesar 2,81%; 2,85%; 2,79%; dan 2;72%. Penggunaan fly ash sebesar 20% terhadap berat semen dan penggunaan cangkang kerang darah sebesar 5% (BKF 5%) dan 7,5% (BKF 7,5%) terbilang efektif karena mampu mencapai kuat tekan mutu rencana (25 MPa). Selain itu, Penggunaan fly ash 20% dengan cangkang kerang darah 5% (BKF 5%) menghasilkan nilai kuat tekan paling optimum.
