Abstract

ix ABSTRACT In the development of the global footwear industry, which has many competitors, it is necessary to have a strategy in maintaining the company's existence as well as in the current Covid-19 pandemic conditions. The company continues to improve in improving its products so as to produce products that are comfortable when used by consumers. Several key parameters such as innovative design, product development, and advanced technology must be carried out continuously to increase product sales. However, having a lot of product variations in the production process has a major impact on the production Ramp-up time in the sewing line section to be very long and can be fatal in delays in delivery to customers which can cause delay costs. 20 days time. This research was conducted to improve the performance of the sewing line in the face of many product variations. The method used in making improvements is a lean manufacturing concept approach. The concept of SMED (single mint exchange dies) is used to improve the long time when changing models. Meanwhile, the concepts of just in time and visual management are combined in making a framework for assessing the performance of the model change process. The 8-dicipline method provides guidance in carrying out corrective steps. By applying the concept of lean manufacturing and 8-Dicipline, it is able to reduce the relayout time from 300 minutes to 68 minutes (77.33%), the machine setting time from 450 minutes to 45 minutes (90%) so that the model change time can be reduced from 600 minutes to 102 minutes ( 83%). The decrease in the three parameters above has a direct impact on the ramp-up time from 20 days to 2 days. From the results of the assessment, the framework has a pretty good performance for all departments, although there are some that still fall short of the target. The factors that cause the high ramp-up time are caused by internal and external factors. By implementing SMED, it is able to have a significant impact on the model change time. While the JIT concept is applied to a framework that is created to see and monitor all activities of each related department and the framework can provide supervision to all relevant departments in the ramp-up process. Keyword: ramp-up; changeover; SMED; just in time; visual management Dalam perkembangan industri global alas kaki yang memiliki banyak pesaing harus memiliki strategi dalam mempertahankan eksistensi perusahaan maupun dalam kondisi pandemi Covid-19 saat ini. Perusahaan terus berbenah dalam memperbiki produknya sehingga menghasilkan produkyang nyaman saat dipakai konsumenya. Beberapa parameter utama seperti desain inovatif, pengembangan produk, dan teknologi canggih harus dilakukan secara kontinu untuk meningkatkan penjualan produk. Namun dengan memiliki banyak variasi produk dalam proses produksinya berdampak besar terhadap waktu Ramp-up produksi pada bagian lini sewing menjadi sangat lama dan dapat berakibat fatal dalam keterlambatan pengiriman ke pelanggan yang dapat menimbulkan biaya keterlambatan hal ini dapat dilihat berdasarkan data ramp-up sewing tercapai dalam waktu 20 hari . Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk meningkatkan performansi pada line sewing dalam menghadapi banyaknya variasi produk. Metode yang digunakan dalam melakukan perbaikan dengan pendekatan konsep lean Manufacturing. Konsep SMED (single minte exchange dies) digunakan dalam memperbaiki waktu yang lama saat melakukan pergantian model. Sedangkan konsep just in time dan visual management dikombinasikan dalam pembuatan kerangka penilaian kinerja proses perubahan model. Metode 8-dicipline memberikan panduan dalam melakukan langkah-langkah perbaikan. Dengan menerapkan konsep lean manufacturing dan 8-Dicipline mampu mereduksi waktu relayout dari 300 menit menjadi 68 menit (77.33%), waktu setting mesin dari 450 menit menjadi 45 menit (90%) sehingga waktu perubahan model dapat direduksi dari 600 menit menjadi 102 menit (83%). Dengan menurunya ketiga parameter diatas berdampak langsung terhadap waktu ramp-up dari 20 hari menjadi 2 hari. Dari hasil penilaian kerangka kerja memiliki performansi yang cukup baik bagi semua departemen walaupun ada beberapa yang masih lewat dari target. Faktor faktor yang menyebabkan tingginya waktu ramp-updisebabkan dari faktor internal maupun eksternal. Dengan menerapkan SMED mampu memberikan dampak yang cukup signifikan terhadap waktu pergantian model. Sedangkan konsep JIT diaplikasikan pada kerangka kerja yang dibuat untuk melihat dan memonitor segala aktifitas dari setiap departemen yang terkait dan kerangka kerja dapat memberikan pengawasan kepada semua departemen yang terkait dalam proses ramp-up.
