Abstract

Menurut KBBI, pengertian pasar adalah sekumpulan orang yang melakukan kegiatan transaksi jual-beli. Pasar merupakan sebuah tempat untuk kegiatan jual-beli yang diselenggarakan oleh sebuah organisasi atau perkumpulan dengan maksud untuk mencari derma. Dari penjelasan yang dipaparkan diatas maka dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa pasar adalah suatu wadah atau tempat bertemunya penjual dan pembeli untuk melakukan transaksi jual dan beli. Dalam kurun waktu 10 tahun terakhir kawasan tersebut banyak bermunculan perumahan, industri kecil dan menengah serta fasilitas umum. Kondisi jalan di sekitar pasar saat ini sangat padat setiap harinya terutama pagi hari. Pasar ini juga memiliki lokasi yang cukup strategis dan cukup banyak dikunjungi sehingga keadaan pasar menjadi penuh dan semrawut. Oleh karena itu, perlu langkah baru dalam upaya menghidupkan kembali pasar tradisional yang lebih baik baik dari segi desain, sirkulasi, dan zoning penataan kios-kios penjual. Untuk itu desain ini di latar belakang pemilihan tema “Pendekatan Arsitektur Vernakular Kontemporer” yaitu dalam rangka mempertahankan dan menyegarkan kembali lingkungan budaya yang mungkin telah lama hilang dari masyarakat sehingga perlunya nilai-nilai budaya yang berkembang pada masa kini. Dimana menurut William Lim S.W. (2002) konsep vernakular kontemporer menekankan tradisi yang ditimbulkan dalam desain tropis. Hal penting dari pandangan tropis ini adalah menghindari hegemoni dari pengaruh globalisasi dan menjaga kekayaaan tradisi lokal. Selain itu, tradisi dan budaya diinterpretasikan kembali dengan menggunakan idiom kontemporer, dimana arsitektur tradisional tidak dibuang begitu saja, tapi ditransformasikan melalui penyegaran kembali. The market is a place for buying and selling activities organized by an organization or association with the intention of seeking donations. From the explanation described above, it can be concluded that the market is a container or place where sellers and buyers meet to carry out buying and selling transactions. In the last 10 years, housing, small and medium industries and public facilities have sprung up in this area. The road conditions around the market are currently very congested every day, especially in the morning. This market also has a fairly strategic location and is visited quite a lot so that the market situation becomes full and chaotic. Therefore, new steps are needed in an effort to revive traditional markets that are better in terms of design, circulation, and zoning arrangement of seller's stalls. For this reason, this design is based on the selection of the theme "Contemporary Vernacular Architecture Approach" which is in order to maintain and refresh the cultural environment that may have been lost from society for a long time so that the need for cultural values that develop today. Where according to William Lim S.W. (2002) Contemporary vernacular concept emphasizes tradition engendered in tropical design. The important thing from this tropical view is avoiding hegemony from the influence of globalization and maintaining the wealth of local traditions. In addition, traditions and culture are reinterpreted using contemporary idioms, in which traditional architecture is not simply thrown away, but transformed through refreshment.
