Abstract
The industrial sector in the paint sector has developed very rapidly. PT Propan Raya I.C.C is a manufacturing company engaged in coating chemicals. In the production process, especially in the MPC (Metal Protective Coating) division, a problem occurred, namely a defect in the primtop panel. During the production of primtop panels in July 2020 – December 2020, there were 2209 paint defects. With these defects, this study aims to determine the type of defect and the cause of the highest defect on the primtop panel, and provide recommendations using the DMAIC method (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control). Based on the results of the Pareto diagram, it is known that the gross defect is the highest type of defect with a percentage of 34% and no paint filtering is the main cause based on the fishbone diagram and FMEA. So the recommendation obtained using the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) method is to filter the wet paint before applying it to the panel. Keywords: Six Sigma, DMAIC, Quality Di Indonesia sektor industri pada bidang cat sudah berkembang sangat pesat. PT Propan Raya I.C.C adalah perusahaan manufaktur yang bergerak pada bidang coating chemicals. Dalam proses produksi, khususnya pada divisi MPC (Metal Protective Coating) terjadi sebuah permasalahan yaitu terjadinya defect pada Panel Primtop. Selama produksi panel primtop pada bulan Juli 2020 – Desember 2020 terjadi defect cat sebanyak 2209 panel. Dengan adanya defect tersebut maka penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis defect dan penyebab defect tertinggi pada panel primtop, serta memberikan rekomendasi menggunakan metode DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control). Berdasarkan hasil diagram pareto maka diketahui bahwa defect kotor merupakan jenis defect tertinggi dengan persentase 34% dan tidak dilakukan penyaringan cat merupakan penyebab utamanya berdasarkan diagram tulang ikan, dan FMEA. Maka rekomendasi yang didapat menggunakan metode DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) adalah melakukan penyaringan pada cat basah sebelum melakukan pengaplikasian pada panel.
