Abstract

One type of pavement that can be considered as a solution to overcome the problem of road damage is a mixed type of gap gradation, one of which is Stone Matrix Asphalt (SMA) which has resistance to rutting, flexibility and high durability. In addition, the use of PG70 modified asphalt is expected to improve the characteristics of asphalt which will produce a mixture with better stability at high temperatures. Therefore, in this study, a dynamic stability analysis will be carried out on the mixture of Stone Matrix Asphalt gap gradation and PG70 modified asphalt as an adhesive based on the General Specification of Highways 2018 Rev. 2 based on the division of the upper limit, lower limit, and middle limit gradation using the Wheel Tracking Machine tool. The results showed that the marshall stability value at the upper, middle and lower limit gradations in fine SMA mixtures using PG70 asphalt had met the requirements with the provisions of asphalt modification of the minimum value of the Rev.2 Highways specification of 750 KN, where the results of the maximum marshall stability testing the upper limit gradation were 1320 KN, the middle limit gradation was 1447.39 KN and the lower upper gradation was 1190 KN. And the WTM dynamic stability values at the upper, middle and lower limit gradations meet the requirements with the provisions for a minimum modified asphalt of 3,000 passes/mm. With the results of WTM dynamic stability testing, upper limit gradation of 4200.0 passes/mm, middle limit gradation of 4846.2 passes/mm and lower limit gradation of 4500 passes/mm. Salah satu jenis perkerasan yang dapat dipertimbangkan menjadi solusi mengatasi permasalahan kerusakan jalan yaitu jenis campuran gradasi senjang salah satunya Stone Matrix Asphalt (SMA) yang mempunyai ketahanan terhadap jejak alur (rutting), fleksibilitas dan durabilitas yang tinggi. Selain itu, penggunaan aspal modifikasi PG70 diharapkan dapat memperbaiki karakteristik aspal yang akan menghasilkan campuran dengan stabilitas yang lebih baik pada temperatur tinggi. Oleh karena itu pada penelitian ini akan dilakukan analisis stabilitas dinamis terhadap campuran gradasi senjang Stone Matrix Asphalt dan aspal modifikasi PG70 sebagai perekatnya berdasarkan Spesifikasi Umum Bina Marga 2018 Rev. 2 berdasarkan pembagian gradasi batas atas, batas bawah, dan batas tengah menggunakan alat Wheel Tracking Machine. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai stabilitas marshall pada gradasi batas atas, tengah dan bawah pada campuran SMA halus menggunakan aspal PG70 telah memenuhi persyaratan dengan ketentuan aspal modifikasi nilai minimum spesifikasi Bina Marga Rev.2 sebesar 750 KN, dimana hasil dari pengujian maksimum stabilitas marshall gradasi batas atas 1320 KN, gradasi batas tengah 1447,39 KN dan gradasi atas bawah 1190 KN. Dan nilai stabilitas dinamis WTM pada gradasi batas atas, tengah dan bawah memenuhi persyaratan dengan ketentuan untuk aspal modifikasi minimum 3.000 lintasan/mm. Dengan hasil dari pengujian stabilitas dinamis WTM gradasi batas atas sebesar 4200,0 lintasan/mm, gradasi batas tengah 4846,2 lintasan/mm dan gradasi batas bawah 4500 lintasan/mm.
