Abstract

The strainer in the PT Nusantara Regas filter, which is conical in shape with one-layer wire mesh, uses one-layer wire mesh to affect its strength resulting in wire mesh often being damaged. By using a three-layer wire mesh it will affect ΔP so that the limit value of 10 psi will be obtained faster which will lead to faster maintenance. The use of three-layer wire mesh with different mesh sizes will get different characteristics, such as combination 1 with mesh layers 20, 20, 20 to get a value of ΔP of 10 psi occurring in the 60% open area. Whele combination 2 with mesh layer 60, 60, 60 to get ΔP value of 10 psi occurs in open area 82%. And for combination 3 with mesh layer 20, 60, 20 to get a value of ΔP of 10 psi occurs in the open area of 70%. The open area and ΔP values obtained have a large effect on the length of time the stainer is used, it can be concluded that based on the order of time the strainer can be seen in the value of ΔP and the open area that has been set is 10 Psi. Keywords: wire mesh, combination, pressure drop. Strainer pada filter PT Nusantara Regas yaitu berbentuk conical dengan wire mesh satu lapis, penggunaan wire mesh satu lapis berpengaruh terhadap kekuatannya yang mengakibatkan wire mesh sering kali rusak. Dengan menggunakan wire mesh tiga lapis akan berpengaruh kepada ΔP sehingga nilai batas 10 psi akan lebih cepat didapat yang berdapak pada semakin cepatnya maintenance. Penggunaan Wire mesh tiga lapis dengan ukuran mesh berbeda-beda maka akan mendapatkan karakteristik yang berbeda, seperti kombinasi 1 dengan lapisan mesh 20, 20, 20 untuk mendapatkan nilai ΔP sebesar 10 psi terjadi di open area 60%. Sedangkan kombinasi 2 dengan lapisan mesh 60, 60, 60 untuk mendapatkan nilai ΔP sebesar 10 psi terjadi di open area 82%. Dan untuk kombinasi 3 dengan lapisan mesh 20, 60, 20 untuk mendapatkan nilai ΔP sebesar 10 psi terjadi di open area 70%. Nilai open area dan ΔP yang didapatkan berpengaruh besar pada semakin lamanya penggunaan stainer, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa berdasarkan urutan lamanya penggunaan strainer dapat dilihat pada nilai ΔP dan open area yang telah ditetapkan nilainya yaitu 10 Psi.
