Abstract

The high public interest in a building that has various facilities that can accommodate all needs has spurred the growth of property. Doing activities such as work, shopping and daily recreation in a relatively close environment has become a necessity at this time. This encourages the development of architectural typologies that are multi-functional, or commonly called mixed use buildings. The mixed-use concept in Indonesia only started to be applied in the 2000s when the property business was booming. Regardless of the development of the mixed use concept, Indonesia is a country with a tropical climate so the buildings must be able to respond to the tropical climate in Indonesia. The application of this tropical architecture concept is a must in Indonesia, because it can affect the comfort of human activities in a building, both buildings that function for habitation and other functions. Comfort will be felt when the building is designed by applying tropical architecture as a solution to building problems due to natural factors and as an adjustment to the natural nature of Indonesia. So, the theme approach and rationale for the design of this mixed use building is directed to the theme of tropical architecture. Keywords: Mixed-use, tropical architecture Tingginya minat masyarakat akan sebuah bangunan yang memiliki berbagai fasilitas yang bisa mengakomodir segala kebutuhan telah memacu dalam pertumbuhan properti. Melakukan aktivitas seperti bekerja, belanja dan berekreasi sehari-hari dalam satu lingkungan yang relative dekat sudah menjadi kebutuhan pada saat ini. Hal ini mendorong berkembangnya tipologi arsitektur yang bersifat multi fungsi, atau biasa disebut mixed use building. Konsep Mixed-use di Indonesia baru mulai diterapkan pada tahun 2000-an kala bisnis properti sedang mengalami booming. Terlepas dari semakin berkembangnya konsep mixed use ini, Indonesia adalah negara yang memiliki iklim tropis sehingga bangunan-bangunan yang ada haruslah mampu merespon iklim tropis yang ada di Indonesia. Penerapan konsep arsitektur tropis ini merupakan keharusan di Indonesia, karena dapat mempengaruhi kenyamanan manusia beraktivitas di dalam sebuah bangunan, baik bangunan yang difungsikan untuk berhuni maupun fungsi-fungsi lainnya. Kenyamanan akan dirasakan ketika bangunan tersebut dirancang dengan menerapkan arsitektur tropis sebagai solusi dari permasalahan bangunan akibat faktor alam maupun sebagai penyesuaian terhadap fitrah alamiah Indonesia. Maka, pendekatan tema dan dasar pemikiran pada rancangan mixed use building ini diarahkan pada tema Arsitektur tropis. Kata kunci: Mixed-use, arsitektur tropis
