Abstract

The purpose of research to know the effect of Good Corporate Governance which is explained through indicators of institutional ownership, board of directors, board of commissioners, audit committee, and leverage as proxied by Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) on Financial Performance as measured by Return on Assets (ROA). The populations in this study were 45 banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the period 2017 – 2019. The sample used was purposive sampling method, by conducting research on data that matched the criteria of 30 companies. The method of analysis in this study uses the classical assumption test and multiple regressions. The results of this study indicate that institutional ownership variables have no effect on financial performance, the board of directors variable has no effect on financial performance, the board of commissioners variable has a positive effect on financial performance, the audit committee variable has a positive effect on financial performance, financial performance and leverage variables have a negative effect on financial performance. Keywords: Good Corporate Governance, Leverage, Financial Performance, and Return on Assets Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Good Corporate Governance yang dijelaskan melalui indikator kepemilikan institusional, dewan direksi, dewan komisaris, komite audit, dan leverage yang diproksikan dengan Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) terhadap Kinerja Keuangan yang diukur menggunakan Return on Assets (ROA). Populasi dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 45 perusahaan perbankan yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) periode 2017 – 2019. Sampel yang digunakan menggunakan metode purposive sampling, dengan melakukan penelitian data yang sesuai dengan kriteria sebanyak 30 perusahaan. Metode analisis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji asumsi klasik dan regresi berganda. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa variabel kepemilikan institusional tidak berpengaruh terhadap kinerja keuangan, variabel dewan direksi tidak berpengaruh terhadap kinerja keuangan, variabel dewan komisaris berpengaruh positif terhadap kinerja keuangan, variabel komite audit berpengaruh positif terhadap kinerja keuangan dan variabel leverage berpengaruh negatif terhadap kinerja keuangan.
