Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of the Profitability, Intellectual Capital, Managerial Ownership and Institutional Ownership on Financial Distress as proxied by the Altman Z-Score. The object of this research is manufacturing base and chemical industry companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) for the period 2016 - 2019. This research was conducted using a total sample of 160 selected data which are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Determination of the sample using the purposive sampling method with the criteria determined by the researcher using a causal relationship design, that is manufacturing base and chemical industry companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2016 - 2019 and manufacturing base and chemical industry companies that use the rupiah currency in their financial statements. Therefore, the data analysis used is statistical analysis in the form of multiple linear regression tests. The results of this study note that the variable profitability have a positive and significant effect on financial distress; while intellectual capital, managerial ownership and institutional ownership does not have a significant effect on financial distress. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Profitabilitas, Intellectual Capital, Kepemilikan Manajerial dan Kepemilikan Institusional terhadap Financial Distress yang diproksikan dengan Altman Z-Score. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah perusahaan sektor Industri Dasar dan Kimia yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) untuk periode 2016 – 2019. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan total sampel sebanyak 160 data terpilih yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia. Penentuan sampel menggunakan metode purposive sampling dengan kriteria yang telah ditentukan peneliti menggunakan desain hubungan kausal yaitu perusahaan sektor industri dasar dan kimia yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia periode 2016 – 2019 dan perusahaan sektor industri dasar dan kimia yang menggunakan mata uang rupiah dalam laporan keuangannya. Karena itu, analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis statistik dalam bentuk uji regresi linier berganda. Hasilnya penelitian ini diketahui bahwa variabel profitabilitas berpengaruh positif terhadap financial distress; sedangkan intellectual capital, kepemilikan manajerial dan kepemilikan institusional tidak berpengaruh terhadap financial distress.
