Abstract

This research is motivated by employee performance that has not been optimal, this is evidenced by the low effectiveness of employees at work so that it has not produced optimal productivity and there are still employees who make many mistakes at work caused by not optimal emotional management, maintenance of work-life balance, and also social capital in state-owned and private companies in Banten Province. The objectives of this study include (1) To test and analyze empirically the effect of emotional intelligence on employee performance (2) To empirically test and analyze the effect of work life balance on employee performance (3) To empirically test and analyze the effect of social capital on employee performance. This research design uses a causal relationship with a quantitative approach. The method of data collection in this study is by distributing online questionnaires through Google Form. The population in this study were all employees of state-owned and private companies in Banten Province. In this study there are 46 indicators and using a ratio of 1: 5, then the minimum sample size required is 46 x 5 = 230 samples. The data analysis method used is Partial Least Square. This study proves that 1) Emotional intelligence has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. This means that the higher the emotional intelligence possessed, the employee's performance will increase. 2) Work-life balance has a negative and significant effect on employee performance. That is, the higher the level of work-life balance in employees, the lower the level of employee performance 3) Social Capital has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. That is, the higher the social capital owned by employees, it can improve employee performance. Keywords: Emotional Intelligence, Work-Life Balance, Social Capital, and Employee Performance Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kinerja karyawan yang belum optimal hal ini dibuktikan oleh rendahnya efektivitas karyawan dalam bekerja sehingga belum menghasilkan produktivitas yang optimal dan masih adanya karyawan yang melakukan banyak kesalahan – kesalahan dalam bekerja yang diakibatkan oleh belum optimalnya pengelolaan emosional, pemeliharaan work-life balance, dan juga modal sosial pada perusahaan BUMN dan swasta di Provinsi Banten. Tujuan pada penelitian ini antara lain (1) Untuk menguji dan menganalisis secara empiris pengaruh kecerdasan emosional terhadap kinerja kinerja karyawan (2) Untuk menguji dan menganalisis secara empiris pengaruh work life balance terhadap kinerja karyawan (3) Untuk menguji dan menganalisis secara empiris pengaruh modal sosial terhadap kinerja karyawan. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan hubungan kausal dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Metode pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini yaitu dengan penyebaran kuesioner secara online melalui Google Form. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh karyawan perusahaan BUMN dan swasta Provinsi Banten. Dalam penelitian ini terdapat 46 indikator dan menggunakan rasio 1 : 5, maka ukuran minimal sampel yang dibutuhkan sejumlah 46 x 5 = 230 sampel. Metode analisis data yang digunakan yaitu Partial Least Square. Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa 1) Kecerdasan emosional berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan. 2) Work-life balance berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan. 3) Modal Sosial berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan.
