Abstract

This study aims to find out what the self-compassion picture of mothers who have children with intellectual disabilities looks like. This study uses a qualitative approach (qualitative research). Data collection techniques using interviews. With the sampling method "Purposive Sampling". The subjects in this study were three mothers who had children with intellectual disabilities, the subjects had children with intellectual disabilities. The stages of data analysis in this study are (1) editing (2) coding (3) drawing conclusions. The result of this study is that mothers who have children with intellectual disabilities can do mindfulness in their lives well by assuming that their children are gifts to be grateful for, not thinking about it as a burden in life but as something to be grateful for. On the other hand, not all mothers who have children with intellectual disabilities can perform Common Humanity well. There are still subjects who have not been able to see the problems and challenges they face as part of their lives. Keywords: Self-Compassion, Children with Special Needs, Intellectual Disability Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seperti apa gambaran selfcompassion ibu yang memiliki anak Intellectual Disability. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif (penelitian kualitatif). Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara. Dengan metode pengambilan sampel “Purposive Sampling”. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah tiga orang ibu yang memiliki anak Intellectual Disability, subjek memiliki anak Disabilitas intelektual. Tahapan analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah (1) editing (2) coding (3) penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah Ibu yang memiliki anak Intelectual Disability dapat dengan baik melakukan Mindfullness dalam hidupnya dengan cara dapat mengaggap bahwa anaknya sebagai anugerah yang harus disyukuri, tidak memikirkan hal tersebut sebagai suatu beban kehidupan melainkan sebagai hal yang harus tetap disyukuri. Disisi lain tidak semua Ibu yang memiliki anak Intelectual Disability dapat melakukan Common Humanity dengan baik. Masih adanya subjek yang belum bisa melihat masalah dan tantangan yang dihadapinya sebagai bagian dari kehidupan mereka.
