Abstract

Innovation is an important thing in helping companies to survive and stand in the midst of intense competition and uncertain situations. Especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, so that companies or organizations can run as they should, develop, and compete to achieve goals. Therefore, it is important for companies to have employees who are able to innovate. To foster innovative behavior, employees need to have a sense of attachment or work engagement as well as psychological empowerment within themselves. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between work engagement and psychological empowerment with innovative work behavior in generation Y employees. This study uses a quantitative approach. Respondents in this study were 127 employees who belonged to the category of generation Y who were selected by purposive sampling. The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between work engagement and psychological empowerment with innovative work behavior. Keywords: work engagement, psychological empowerment, innovative work behavior Inovasi adalah suatu hal yang penting dalam membantu perusahaan untuk terus bertahan dan beridiri ditengah persaingan yang ketat dan situasi yang tidak menentu. Terutama pada masa pandemi Covid-19 seperti ini, agar perusahaan atau organisai dapat berjalan sebagaimana mestinya, berkembang, juga bersaing demi mencapai tujuan. Maka dari itu, penting bagi perusahaan untuk memiliki karyawan yang mampu berinovasi. Untuk menumbuhkan perilaku inovatif, karyawan perlu memiliki rasa keterikatan atau keterlibatan bekerja serta keberdayaan secara psikologis dalam dirinya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui hubungan antara work engagement dan psychological empowerment dengan innovative work behavior pada karyawan generasi Y. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pendekatan kuantitatif. Responden dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 127 karyawan yang termasuk ke dalam kategori generasi Y yang terpilih secara purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara work engagement dan psychological empowerment dengan innovative work behavior.
