Abstract

The density of the population is not appropriate with the availability of land area for housing needs, has become a classic polemic for settlements in big cities. The high flow of urbanization of displaced people has not had the same opportunity to obtain a more decent life in the city. The emergence of slums cannot be avoided. But here the inherent culture of the area of origin cannot completely fade away, such as the nature of kinship and mutual cooperation. Cakung Barat is one of the locations for the construction of public housing to meet the needs of MBR housing. With a land area of ± 5 hectares, the design of the Kampung Susun Cakung public housing also fulfills the public and social facilities that are properly designed to improve the quality of life of its inhabitants. The basic concept of sustainability is applied to public housing which are divided into four main problems, namely accessibility, environment and economy in which the flat is divided into two types of rooms with a compact and functional room layout. Keyword: Public Housing, Sustainable, Low Cost Padatnya jumlah penduduk namun tidak diimbangi dengan tersedianya luas lahan untuk kebutuhan tempat tinggal menjadi polemik klasik pemukiman yang dihadapi kota-kota besar. Tingginya arus urbanisasi memaksa masyarakat belum mendapat kesempatan yang sama dalam memperoleh kehidupan yang lebih layak di kota. Munculnya pemukiman kumuh-pun tak bisa dihindari. Namun disini kebudayaan yang sudah melekat dari daerah asal tak dapat serta merta luntur seutuhnya seperti sifat kekeluargaan dan gotong royong. Cakung Barat menjadi salah satu lokasi untuk pembangunan rusun guna memenuhi kebutuhan tempat tinggal MBR. Dengan luas lahan lahan ±5 hektar, perancangan rusun Kampung Susun Cakung juga memenuhi fasilitas umum dan sosial sepatutnya dirancang dengan maksimal untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidup penghuninya. Konsep dasar sustainbility diterapkan pada rusun yang terbagi menjadi empat masalah utama yaitu aksesbilitas, sosial, lingkungan dan ekonomi yang dimana unit rusun terbagi menjadi dua tipe ruangan dengan lay out kamar yang compact dan fungsional.
