Abstract
Currently, the cafe business is very popular especially in the capital city of Jakarta. However, most of the existing cafes tend to be small with limited space. The limited space size has an effect on the activities of cafe owners and employees in arranging seating in cafes. Meanwhile, for cafe visitors, the effect on the comfort of sitting activities in cafes that tends to be long. For that we need a seat that can accommodate these activities. Based on Virtuvius' theory and the data analysis process, a comfortable and practical stool is needed. To ensure that the design meets the needs, data analysis process is carried out based on the principle of form follow function so that the design and structure of the stool works well. The design of the stool must have a character that is comfortable, easy to move, and space saving so that it can make it easy for cafe owners and employees to tidy up and rearrange stools and provide sitting comfort for cafe visitors even for a long time. Keywords: cafe, stool, limited space Saat ini, bisnis kafe sangat populer terutama di ibu kota Jakarta. Namun, kebanyakan kafe yang ada sekarang cenderung berukuran kecil dengan lahan terbatas. Ukuran lahan yang terbatas tersebut berefek pada aktivitas pemilik dan karyawan kafe dalam menata tempat duduk di kafe. Sementara bagi pengunjung kafe berefek pada kenyamanan aktivitas duduk di kafe yang cenderung lama. Untuk itu diperlukan tempat duduk yang dapat mewadahi aktivitas tersebut. Berdasarkan teori Virtuvius dan proses analisis data, dibutuhkan tempat duduk berupa stool yang nyaman dan praktis. Untuk memastikan rancangan sesuai dengan kebutuhan maka dilakukan proses analisis data berdasarkan prinsip form follow function agar desain dan struktur stool bekerja dengan baik. Rancangan stool haruslah memiliki karakter yang nyaman, mudah dipindahkan, dan mudah diringkas sehingga dapat memberi kemudahan bagi pemilik dan karyawan kafe untuk merapihkan dan menata ulang stool serta memberi kenyamanan duduk bagi pengunjung kafe bahkan dalam waktu yang lama.
