Abstract

A capsule hotel is a type of hotel developed in Japan which provides a very small number of rooms with a large number of Japanese capsules. Capsule hotels with standard facilities and low prices for visitors who do not require services as generally in conventional hotels to stay. The trend of Staycation or vacationing in hotel environments is getting more and more popular when the Covid-19 virus begins to spread, so tourists cannot freely wander to tourist destinations like before the Covid-19 pandemic occurred. Staycations are frequent, but with resort-type hotels and 4 or 5-star hotels because of the facilities offered, not all tourists can afford a resort or 5-star hotel for just a staycation. Therefore, capsule hotels are also one of the favorite destinations for tourists to just spend time on the weekends for just a staycation and relieve fatigue by utilizing existing facilities because capsule hotels are hotels with a cost of staying that is much cheaper than other types of conventional hotels. Now Luxury Capsule Hotel uses the concept of luxury while still not changing the essence or main function of the capsule hotel where the author will strengthen the concept and chosen style of the interior design of this hotel. Keywords – Luxury, Staycation, Capsule Hotel. Hotel kapsul adalah sejenis hotel yang dikembangkan di Jepang yang menyediakan ruang-ruang kamar yang sangat kecil dengan jumlah yang banyak dan dinamakan dengan kapsul. Hotel kapsul berfasilitas standar dan bertarif murah bagi pengunjung yang tidak memerlukan pelayanan seperti umumnya pada hotel-hotel konvensional untuk semalam saja. Tren Staycation atau berlibur di dalam lingkungan hotel semakin naik daun saat virus Covid19 mulai mewabah, sehingga para wisatawan tidak bisa bebas berkeluyuran ke destinasi-destinasi wisata seperti masa sebelum pandemi Covid-19 Terjadi. Staycation kerap sekali dikaitkan dengan hotel berjenis resort dan hotel berbintang 4 ataupun 5 karena fasilitas yang ditawarkan, namun tidak semua wisatawan mampu untuk membayar resort ataupun hotel berbintang 5 untuk sekedar staycation. Maka dari itu Hotel kapsul juga menjadi salah satu destinasi favorit wisatawan untuk sekedar menghabiskan waktu di akhir pekan untuk sekedar staycation dan menghilangkan penat dengan memanfaatkan fasilitas yang ada karena hotel kapsul merupakan hotel dengan biaya menginap yang terbilang jauh lebih murah dibandingkan jenis hotel konvensional lainnya. Kini Luxury Capsule Hotel mengunakan konsep luxury dengan tetap tidak merubah esensi atau fungsi utama hotel kapsul tersebut dimana penulis akan memperkuat konsep dan gaya terpilih desain interior hotel ini.
