Abstract
There is a wide variety of video content that can be accessed on social media YouTube, one of which is a video blog or often called a vlog. Vlogs currently have many enthusiasts and are also developing into various types. One of them is about Food and Traveling. Food and Traveling vlogs usually contain content about exploring various tourist attractions, to trying and reviewing typical foods in these tourist attractions. This study aims to determine whether there is an influence of Exposure to "Ria SW" YouTube Food and Traveling Content on Interest in Travel among Broadcasting Students at Mercu Buana University Class of 2019. The Uses and Effect theory explains the relationship between mass communication conveyed through the mass media, which creates an effect for its users from the mass media. This study uses a type of quantitative research with explanatory research. The method used was survey research on Broadcasting students at Mercu Buana University class of 2019. Where researchers collected data by distributing questionnaires to 111 respondents using a purposive sampling technique. The results of the study show that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, meaning that there is influence from exposure to YouTube food and traveling Ria SW content on the interest in traveling for 2019 Mercu Buana University students. The two variables also have a positive relationship with a coefficient of determination of 72. 8%. Keywords: YouTube, Teori Uses and Effect, Food and Traveling. Banyak beragam konten video yang dapat diakses dalam media sosial YouTube, Salah satunya adalah video blog atau sering disebut vlog. Vlog saat ini memiliki banyak peminat dan juga berkembang menjadi berbagai jenis. Salah satunya ialah mengenai Food And Traveling. Vlog Food And Traveling biasanya berisikan konten mengenai menjelajahi berbagai tempat wisata, hingga mencoba dan mereview makanan-makanan khas yang ada di tempat wisata tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adakah Pengaruh Terpaan Konten YouTube Food dan Travelling “Ria SW” Terhadap Minat Berwisata dikalangan Mahasiswa/i Broadcasting Universitas Mercu Buana Angkatan 2019. Teori Uses and Effect menjelaskan mengenai hubungan antara komunikasi massa yang disampaikan melalui media massa, yang menimbulkan sebuah effects bagi penggunanya dari media massa. Penelitian ini menggunakan tipe penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian eksplanatif. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian survei pada mahasiswa/I Broadcasting Universitas Mercu Buana angkatan 2019. Dimana peneliti mengumpulkan data dengan menyebarkan kuesioner kepada 111 responden dengan menggunakan teknik Purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian dapat diketahui Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak, dengan artian yaitu adanya pengaruh dari terpaan konten YouTube food and traveling Ria SW terhadap minat berwisata mahasiswa/i Universitas Mercu Buana Angkatan 2019. Kedua variabel juga memiliki hubungan yang positif dengan nilai koefisien determinasi sebesar 72,8%. Kata Kunci: YouTube, Teori Uses and Effect, Food and Traveling.
