Abstract

In 2015-2017 the Hijrah Shift Media Youtube channel became a topic of conversation for several media and attracted public attention regarding its campaign inviting young people to emigrate. They claim that this movement has received a positive response from the public in Youtube. One of them is from the Youtube media. They named their Youtube channel is “Hijrah Shift Media”. The purpose of this study was to find out subscriber receptions about migrating in the Hijrah Shift Media Youtube channel content. The study uses meaning or Reception Analysis Theory which is based on the Stuart Hall model. This theory states that reception analysis refers to the study of meaning, production and experiences of subscriber in relation to interacting with media texts. The type of approach used in this study is the construction of social media reality. The types of data obtained are primary data through Focus Group Discussion (FGD), observation and secondary data through books, journals, and the internet. Based on the results and conclusions obtained in the research conducted, each informant has a different meaning for the migration movement called for by the Hijrah Shift Media Youtube channel. Results and conclusions is general, the informants have three positions or three group in interpreting a content, namely dominant, negotiated, and oppositional hegemony. In general, it can be concluded that the meaning of the Hijrah Shift Media Youtube channel is included in the dominant category. Where audiences can make decisions freely about the meaning conveyed by the Hijrah Shift Media Youtube channel. This explains that new media is not an institution that has great power in influencing subscriber through the content delivered. Subscribers are the role who have the power to create meaning freely and act or behave according to the meaning they create for the media text. Pada tahun 2015-2017 channel Youtube Hijrah Shift Media menjadi perbincangan bagi beberapa media dan menarik perhatian masyarakat mengenai kampanye nya yang mengajak para remaja untuk berhijrah. Mereka mengklaim kalau gerakan ini mendapat respon positif dari masyarakat. Salah satunya dari media Youtube. Mereka memberi nama channel Youtube nya yaitu “Hijrah Shift Media”. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui resepsi subscriber tentang berhijrah dalam konten channel Youtube Hijrah Shift Media. Penelitian ini menggunkan pemaknaan atau Reception Analysis Theory yang didasarkan atas model Stuart Hall. Teori ini menyebutkan bahwa reception analysis mengacu pada studi tentang makna, produksi dan pengalaman subscriber dalam hubungannya berinteraksi dengan teks media. Jenis pendekatan yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan konstruksi realitas social media. Jenis data yang didapatkan yaitu data primer melalui Focus Group Discussion (FGD), observasi dan data sekunder melalui buku, jurnal, dan internet. Berdasarkan hasil dan kesimpulan yang didapat dalam penelitian ini, masingmasing informan memiliki pemaknaan yang berbeda-beda terhadap gerakan berhiijrah yang diserukan oleh channel Youtube Hijrah Shift Media. Kesimpulan secara garis besar, para informan memiliki tiga kelompok dalam memaknai sebuah konten, yaitu hegemoni dominan, negotiated, dan oppositional. Kesimpulannya bahwa pemaknaan channel Youtube Hijrah Shift Media masuk kedalam kategori dominan. Dimana khalayak dapat mengambil keputusan secara bebas terhadap pemaknaan yang disampaikan channel Youtube Hijrah Shift Media. Hal ini menjelaskan bahwa new media bukanlah sebuah institusi yang memiliki kekuatan besar dalam mempengaruhi subscriber melalui konten yang disampaikan. Subscriberlah yang memiliki peran besar dalam menciptakan makna secara bebas dan bertindak atau berperilaku sesuai dengan makna yang mereka ciptakan atas teks media tersebut.
