Abstract

Materials used in flexible pavement include aggregate, sand, cement, and asphalt. These materials are very limited in existence because they are often taken in excess so that the price is very expensive. The high aggregate price has an impact on the increasingly high cost of road construction. Therefore, this study aims to determine other aggregate sources, namely rocks in the hills in North Sumatra, precisely in the Mandailing Natal district area, namely white stone (dolomite). The testing method in the marshall test uses 100% dolomite stone, 70% dolomite stone, 50% dolomite stone with immersion of 30 minutes and 24 hours to obtain VMA value, stability, meltability, MQ that meet the 2010 Bina Marga requirements. Based on the Residual Strength Index (IKS), all proportions of dolomite stone mixture can be used as a substitute for coarse aggregate, but in the study the Marshall value was obtained in 70% dolomite stone mix + 30% aggregate. Keywords: Dolomite Stone, Asphalt Pen 60/70, Marshall Test, Marshall Stability. Bahan yang dipakai dalam perkerasan lentur meliputi agregat, pasir, semen, dan aspal. Bahan-bahan tersebut sangat terbatas keberadaannya dikarenakan seringkali diambil secara berlebihan sehingga harganya sangat mahal. Tingginya harga agregat tersebut berdampak terhadap semakin mahalnya biaya pembangunan jalan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sumber–sumber agregat lain yaitu batuan yang ada di perbukitan di Sumatera Utara tepatnya di daerah kabupaten Mandailing Natal, yaitu batu putih (dolomit). Metode pengujian didalam uji marshall campuran memakai batu dolomit 100%, batu dolomit 70%, batu dolomit 50% dengan perendaman 30 menit dan 24 jam untuk memperoleh nilai VMA, Stabilitas, Kelelehan, MQ yang memenuhi syarat Bina Marga 2010. Berdasarkan dari Indeks Kekuatan Sisa (IKS) seluruh proporsi campuran batu dolomit dapat digunakan sebagai pengganti agregat kasar namun pada penelitian nilai marshall diperoleh pada campuran batu dolomit 70% + agregat 30%.
