Abstract
In light of the rise in research on smartphone addiction in particular, the aim of this paper was to review the relevant literature on the topic of self esteem and smartphone addiction in teenagers and determine whether this disorder exists or if it does not adequately satisfy the criteria for addiction. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self esteem and smartphone addiction in the youth in Tangerang city. This study involved 200 in the youth Tangerang City. The sampling technique used accidental sampling technique and this research uses quantitative method. Based on the results of the analysis using the product moment correlation test, it gave the correlation score of 0.042 with a significant p = 0,553 (P>0.05). It means that the result was not significant and then the hypothesis was not accepted. The result showed that the hypothesis that states the relationship between self esteem and smartphone addiction in the youth in City Tangerang is was not accepted. Keywords : Self Esteem, Smartphone Addiction Mengingat meningkatnya penelitian tentang smartphone addiction khususnya, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meninjau literatur yang relevan tentang topik self esteem dan smartphone addiction pada remaja dan menentukan apakah gangguan ini ada atau tidak memenuhi kriteria secara memadai untuk addiction. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan self esteem dengan smartphone addiction pada remaja di Tangerang Kota. Penelitian ini melibatkan 200 remaja di Tangerang Kota. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik accidental sampling dan penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Berdasarkan hasil analisis menggunakan uji korelasi product moment diperoleh skor korelasi sebesar 0,042 dengan signifikan p = 0,553 (P>0,05). Artinya hasil tidak signifikan dan hipotesis tidak diterima. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis yang menyatakan adanya hubungan self esteem dengan smartphone addiction pada remaja di Tangerang Kota tidak diterima.
