Abstract

In this modern era, the development of technology is so rapid that everyone needs to follow and understand so as not to become a retarded human being. One example for young people in schools must adapt to follow this technological development in order to become a more advanced generation and can be a more useful generation in the future. Unfortunately not all schools have complete facilities to support teaching and learning activities. With these limitations, the authors hold community service to help share technology knowledge among high schools. The method used is socialization with a presentation to the school designated to provide the required material. The material provided is the basics about internet network systems. Through presentations in front of students and using two-way communication makes it possible for students to give more feedback to the speaker so that the atmosphere is more interesting. Not only the material is given but also provides a video demo to add a clearer picture of the internet network system working from start to finish. In addition to this, the speakers provide opportunities for students to practice directly through the Cisco tracer package so that what is learned can be implemented directly. In this community service activity it is able to give its own interest to the students. It is hoped that with this activity the students will broaden their horizons and give an inner urge to explore and continue to a higher level. Key words: Cisco paket tracer, internet network system, community service, students Di era modern ini perkembangan teknologi sangatlah pesat sehingga perlu setia orang mengikuti dan memahaminya agar tidak menjadi manusia yang terbelakang.Salah satu contohnya bagi generasi muda di sekolah harus beradaptasi mengikuti perkembangan teknologi ini agar menjadi generasi yang lebih maju dan bisa menjadi generasi yang lebih bermanfaat dikemudian hari. Sayangnya tidak semua sekolah memiliki fasilitas yang lengkap untuk kegiatan belajar mengajar. Dengan adanya keterbatasan tersebut maka penulis mengadakan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat untuk membantu para murid berbagi ilmu pengetahuan teknologi di kalangan sekolah menengah atas. Metode yang digunakan adalah sosialisasi dengan presentasi ke sekolah yang ditunjuk untuk memberikan materi yang dibutuhkan. Materi yang diberikan adalah materi mengenai dasar-dasar sistem jaringan internet. Melalui presentasi di depan para murid dan menggunakan sistem komunikasi dua arah memungkinkan para murid lebih memberi timbal balik dengan pemateri agar suasana lebih menarik. Tidak hanya materi saja yang diberikan, melainkan memberi demo sebuah video untuk menambah gambaran yang lebih jelas dari proses sistem jaringan internet bekerja mulai dari awal hingga akhir. Selain hal tersebut, pemateri juga memberikan kesempatan bagi para murid untuk praktek secara langsung melalui simulasi cisco paket tracer agar apa yang dipelajari dapat diimplementasikan langsung. Dalam pengabdian masyarakat ini mampu memberikan ketertarikan tersendiri bagi para murid. Diharapkan dengan adanya kegiatan tersebut para murid menambah wawasan dan memberikan dorongan batin untuk lebih mendalami dan dapat melanjutkan ke jenjang yang lebih tinggi.
