Abstract

Business development in the manufacturing industry, agricultural industry, and the mining industry is a government effort to increase the country's foreign exchange. By seeing this potential, sea transportation service company PT. XYZ has a problem that often occurs in customer satisfaction, one of which is low efficiency and effectiveness due to the inability in proper ship maintenance management. This is what underlies PT. XYZ to make improvements in its production activities. To overcome these problems in an effort to increase production efficiency is done by calculating ship productivity using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method as a tool used to measure and determine the performance of the machine/equipment. Measurements are made by calculating Availability, Performance, and Quality Yield. From these measurements, we can see Six Big Losses to make it easier to identify the causes of productivity that are below the ideal standard value. During January - December 2018, the effectiveness value of OEE on M169 vessels was around 55.5%, and M269 was around 44.2% with an average value of 49.8%. This proves that ship operations throughout 2018 have not yet reached ideal conditions. Seen from the value obtained is lower than the ideal standard is ≥85%. This research was conducted to get a picture of the suitability of the factors that determine the need for the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance with company conditions and see which of the six big losses dominantly influenced the decline in effectiveness of the ship/fleet. Thus the writing of this research will provide suggestions for improving the effectiveness of the ship/fleet in an effort to increase production efficiency in the company through the application of Total Productive Maintenance. Keywords: TPM, OEE, Six Big Losses Pembangunan usaha pada sektor industri manufaktur, industri agrikulutral, dan industri pertambangan adalah suatu upaya pemerintah dalam meningkatkan devisa negara. Dengan melihat potensi ini perusahaan jasa transportasi laut PT. XYZ memiliki masalah yang sering terjadi dalam kepuasan pelanggan, salah satunya adalah efisiensi dan efektivitas yang rendah karena ketidakmampuan dalam manajemen pemeliharaan kapal secara tepat. Hal inilah yang mendasari PT. XYZ untuk melakukan upaya perbaikan dalam aktivitas produksinya. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut dalam usaha peningkatan efisiensi produksi dilakukan dengan menghitung produktivitas kapal menggunakan metode overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) sebagai alat yang digunakan untuk mengukur dan mengetahui kinerja mesin/peralatan. Pengukuran dilakukan dengan menghitung availability, performance, dan quality yield. Dari pengukuran tersebut, kita bisa melihat six big losses untuk memudahkan dalam mengidentifikasi penyebab produktivitas yang berada di bawah nilai standar ideal. Selama Januari - Desember 2018 nilai efektivitas OEE pada kapal M169 berkisar 55.5%, dan M269 berkisar 44.2% dengan nilai rata-rata 49.8%. Ini membuktikan bahwa operasi kapal sepanjang 2018 belum mencapai kondisi ideal. Terlihat dari nilai yang diperoleh lebih rendah dari standar ideal adalah ≥85%. Maka penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendapatkan gambaran tentang kesesuaian faktor-faktor yang menentukan kebutuhan penerapan total productive maintenance dengan kondisi perusahaan dan melihat faktor mana dari six big losses tersebut yang dominan mempengaruhi terjadinya penurunan efektivitas kapal/armada. Dengan demikian penulisan penelitian ini akan memberikan usulan perbaikan efektivitas kapal/armada dalam usaha meningkatkan efisiensi produksi pada perusahaan melalui penerapan total productive maintenance.
