Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between problematic social media use and academic satisfaction with adolescent academic procrastination. The subjects in this study were teenage students aged 13-18 years who were in junior high and high school with a total of 150 respondents. The instruments in this study used the Academic Procrastination Short Scale (APS-S), Bergen Social Media Addiction Scale (BSMAS) and Academic Life Satisfaction Scale (ALSS). Data analysis used in this study was pearson correlation product moment. The results of this study were that there was a positive and significant relationship between problematic social media use and adolescent academic procrastination and there was a positive and significant relationship between academic satisfaction and adolescent academic procrastination, so that there is a relationship between problematic social media use and academic satisfaction with adolescent academic procrastination. Keywords: Procrastination Academic, Problematic Social Media Use, Academic Satisfaction. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara problematic social media use dan kepuasan akademik dengan prokrastinasi akademik remaja. Subjek pada penelitian ini merupakan pelajar remaja berusia 13-18 tahun yang duduk dibangku SMP dan SMA dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 150 responden. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan desain korelasi dengan menggunakan accidental sampling sebagai teknik sampling yang digunakan. Instrumen pada penelitian ini menggunakan Academic Procrastination Short Scale (APS-S), Bergen Social Media Addiction Scale (BSMAS) dan Academic Life Satisfaction Scale (ALSS). Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pearson correlation product moment. Hasil penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara problematic social media use dengan prokrastinasi akademik remaja dan terdapat hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara kepuasan akademik dengan prokrastinasi akademik remaja, sehingga terdapat hubungan antara problematic social media use dan kepuasan akademik dengan prokrastinasi akademik remaja.
