Abstract

The foot is a part of an animal or human body that is used for walking. Diabetes is a long-lasting or chronic disease and is characterized by high blood sugar (glucose) levels or above normal values. Glucose which accumulates in the blood due to not being absorbed by body cells properly can cause various disorders of the body's organs. In people with diabetes the leg is a part of the body that is vulnerable to injury. When a person with diabetes has a wound on his body, the wound is difficult to heal. So it needs special handling. After conducting previous research, the author found several deficiencies in diabetic shoes that are already on the market. Thus the authors make shoes in which these shoes are designed by prioritizing research on aspects that are lacking and still not found in diabetic shoes that are already on the market. Keywords: Footwear, Diabetes, upper, insole, outsole Kaki merupakan salah satu anggota tubuh hewan atau manusia yang digunakan untuk berjalan. Diabetes adalah penyakit yang berlangsung lama atau kronis serta ditandai dengan kadar gula (glukosa) darah yang tinggi atau di atas nilai normal. Glukosa yang menumpuk di dalam darah akibat tidak diserap sel tubuh dengan baik dapat menimbulkan berbagai gangguan organ tubuh. Pada pengidap diabetes kaki adalah bagian tubuh yang rentan terhadap cedera. Ketika seorang pengidap diabetes terdapat luka pada tubuhnya, maka luka itu sulit untuk sembuh. Sehingga butuh penanganan khusus. Setelah melakukan penelitia sebelumnya penulis menemukan beberapa kekurangan-kekurangan yang terdapat pada sepatu-sepatu diabetes yang sudah beredar dipasaran. Dengan demikina penulis membuat sepatu yang dimana sepatu ini dirancang dengan mengedepankan penelitian terhadap aspekaspek yang kurang dan masih belum ditemukan di sepatu-sepatu diabetes yang sudah beredar dipasaran.
