Abstract

This research discusses the phenomenon of final year students used Instagram and feel they are in the Quarter-Life Crisis phase. This phenomenon is supported by data from the Office of Internal Quality Underwriter at Mercu Buana University for the 2021/2022 Academic Year regarding the average number of semesters of graduates in Psychology. Based on this phenomenon, the researcher proposed a hypothesis, namely that there were differences in Quarter-life Crisis based on gender in final year students used Instagram with a total sample of 124 students who were divided into 2 groups namely 62 Female and 62 Male. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, data collection using a questionnaire in the form of a Likert scale distributed via Google Form. This questionnaire contains 19 items on the Quarter-Life Crisis scale which have been adapted and moficated by Artiningsih and Savira (2021). In the data analysis section, the technique used is comparison, and the results of the Mann Whitney test show a sig. of 0.000 which mean Ha is accepted. Based on the results of the descriptive analysis, it was found that female students have a higher Quarter-Life Crisis level than male students. Keywords: Quarter-Life Crisis, Female, Male Penelitian ini membahas tentang fenomena mahasiswa tingkat akhir di Fakultas Psikologi yang menggunakan Instagram merasa berada di fase Quarter-Life Crisis. Fenomena ini didukung oleh data dari Biro Penjaminan Mutu Internal Universitas Mercu Buana Tahun Akademik 2021-2022 terkait rata-rata jumlah semester lulusan di Psikologi. Berdasarkan fenomena tersebut peneliti mengajukan hipotesis yaitu terdapat perbedaan Quarter-life Crisis berdasarkan gender pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir yang menggunakan Instagram dengan total sampel 124 mahasiswa yang dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok yaitu; 62 perempuan dan 62 laki-laki.Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling, pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner dalam bentuk skala likert yang disebarkan melalui Google Form. Kuesioner ini terdapat 19 item skala Quarter-Life Crisis yang telah diadaptasi oleh Artiningsih dan Savira (2021). Pada bagian Analisa data teknik yang digunakan adalah komparasi dan pada hasil Uji Mann Whitney didapatkan nilai sig. sebesar 0.000 yang artinya H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Berdasarkan hasil Analisa deskriptif didapatkan bahwa mahasiswa perempuan memiliki tingkat Quarter-Life Crisis lebih tinggi dibandingkan laki-laki.
