Abstract

Plastic waste will always be a problem if there is no citizen's participations to face and find the solutions. As mentioned in the book tittled Building From Waste by Dirk E. Hebel. Surely, designer's role also needed to handle this problem which happen in our society. Therefore, plastic waste have to be mantained after being used by recycling the material. The final product must have circular life span to be use continuesly. There are so many recycle product that only posses liniar life cycle and will be back as trash. The recycling process must also be considered to runs well. The concept of recycling must pay attention to other supporting aspects such as technology, human needs, and so on. The result will be a recognations of plastic waste as a material that known and used by people withaout wasting it. Therefore, in an effort to find solutions to solve enviromental problems, the designer made a design of a innovative product with plastic waste material what is very close to the life style of urbanities, and also very functional. Key Word: plastic waste, recycle, precious plastic Masalah sampah plastik akan terus bertambah jika tidak ada keikut sertaan peran masyarakat dalam menghadapi dan mencari solusinya. Perihal tersebut, seperti dalam buku berjudul Building From Waste karya Dirk E. Hebel. Tentunya peran desainer juga dibutuhkan dalam menangani masalah yang terjadi dimasyarakat dalam hal ini sampah plastik, menyadari hal tersebut sampah-sampah plastik harus dapat diolah kembali setelah masa pakainya sudah selesai dengan cara mendaur ulang sampah-sampah tersebut. Produk daur ulang harus bersifat circular buka linear demi mengusung konsep hidup berkelanjutan. Banyak produk daur ulang yang hanya bersifat linear dan siklus masa pakainya hanya sementara dan akan menjadi sampah dan masalah dikemudian hari. Proses daur ulangpun harus diperhatikan jika terjadi penyimpangan dalam proses daur ulangpun dapat menimbulkan masalah juga. Konsep daur ulangpun harus disandingankan dengan beberapa aspek pendukung lainnya seperti teknologi, kebutuhan manusia, dan sebagainya. Sehingga keberadaannya pun mempunyai nilai dimasyarakat sehingga masyarakat mau menggunakan produk daur ulang plastik tersebut. Oleh karena itu dalam upaya ikut serta mencari solusi bagi masalah lingkungan (sampah plastik), dibuatlah perancangan sebuah produk dari daur ulang plastik. Yang inovatif dan sangat dekat dengan tingkat produktifitas kaum urban, yang tentunya sangat fungsional. Kata Kunci: limbah plastik, daur ulang, precious plastic
