Abstract
In the industrial world there will always be competition. Consumer satisfaction is the main factor that can determine the victory in competition in the industrial world. One of the ways to achieve customer satisfaction is by maintaining the quality of the products produced. This is what underlies PT. Korina to continue to make improvements in quality. This thesis research is focused on reducing the reject rate found in the plate production process by the Six Sigma method. This Six Sigma method is compiled based on a simple DMAIC-problem solving methodology, that is: Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control, which combines various statistical tools and another process improvement approach. Based on the research results obtained by DPMO of 119917.5 ppm with a sigma value of 2.78. With Transport Flow as the largest number of rejects, there were 9,850 pcs or 36% of the total rejects. From the analysis of Fishbone Diagrams and FMEA obtained causes of Transport Flow, namely: Unclean engine facilities, A large scale distribution, Area around the dirty machine, Less Interaction between Inspector and Operator, The level of hardness of a material. Therefore, it is necessary to make improvements to reduce the number of rejects. Keywords: Six Sigma, DMAIC, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA, Defect. Pada dunia industri akan selalu terdapat persaingan. Kepuasan konsumen menjadi faktor utama yang mampu menentukan kemenangan dalam persaingan di dunia industri. Kepuasan konsumen dapat diraih salah satunya dengan menjaga kualitas produk yang dihasilkan. Hal inilah yang mendasari PT. Korina untuk terus melakukan perbaikan kualitas. Penelitian Skripsi ini difokuskan pada penurunan tingkat reject yang terdapat pada proses produksi Plate dengan metode Six Sigma. Metode Six Sigma ini disusun berdasarkan sebuah metodologi penyelesaian masalah yang sederhana-DMAIC, yaitu: Define (merumuskan), Measure (mengukur), Analyze (menganalisa), Improve (memperbaiki) dan Control (mengendalikan), yang menggabungkan bermacam – macam perangkat statistik serta pendekatan perbaikan proses yang lainnya. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh DPMO sebesar 119917,5 ppm dengan nilai sigma 2,78. Dengan Transport Flow sebagai jumlah reject terbesar yaitu sebanyak 9.850 pcs atau 36% dari total reject keseluruhan. Dari analisa Fishbone Diagram dan FMEA didapat penyebab dari Transport Flow, yaitu: Fasilitas mesin yang tidak bersih, Sebaran scale yang banyak, Area sekitar mesin kotor, Kurang Interaksi antara Inspektor dan Operator, Tingkat kekerasan suatu material. Maka dari itu perlu dilakukan perbaikan guna mengurangi jumlah reject. Kata Kunci: Six Sigma, DMAIC, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA, Defect.
