Abstract

The purpose of this study was (1) to determine the effect of transformational leadership style of school principals on teachers’ performance, (2) to determine the effect of job satisfaction of teachers on teachers’ performance, and (3) to determine the effect of transformational leadership style of school principals and teachers job satisfaction jointly on teachers’ performance at SMP Negeri 61, Jakarta. This study uses a quantitative approach and full sampling of 60 respondents. Data were collected by using a five-scale likert questionnaire. Both the validity and reliability of the instrument met the requirement. By using the linear regression analysis, the results of this study showed that there were significant relationships among: (1) transformational leadership style of school principal on teachers performance, (2) job satisfaction of teachers on teachers performance, and (3) transformational leadership style of school principal and teachers job satisfaction jointly on teachers performance. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk mengetahui pengaruh gaya kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah terhadap kinerja guru, (2) untuk mengetahui pengaruh kepuasan kerja guru terhadap kinerja guru, dan (3) untuk mengetahui pengaruh gaya kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah dan kepuasan kerja guru secara bersama-sama terhadap kinerja guru di SMP Negeri 61, Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan pengambilan sampel penuh terhadap 60 responden. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuesioner dengan lima skala likert. Baik validitas dan reliabilitas instrumen memenuhi persyaratan tersebut. Dengan menggunakan analisis regresi linier, hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan yang signifikan antara: (1) gaya kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah terhadap kinerja guru, (2) kepuasan kerja guru terhadap kinerja guru, dan (3) kepemimpinan transformasional gaya kepala sekolah dan guru kepuasan kerja secara bersama-sama terhadap kinerja guru.
