Abstract
PT. XYZ is one of the companies engaged in cosmetics, especially bar soap. This company produces beauty, fruity, laundry and multipurpose soap. Making the product, noodle soap is needed, which is the main raw material in making bar soap. One type of soap noodle that often experiences problems is S70. The purpose of this study is to obtain optimal conditions of inventory control from the results of the comparison of Method Q and Method P using total cost criteria. The results of the analysis using the Q method were Rp. 720,855,500 with a frequency of ordering 18 times while ordering if using the P method the total cost of inventory for one year is Rp. 541,887,000 with a frequency of ordering 21 times. When compared with the exsisting condition of the company where the total cost of inventory for one year is Rp. 938,419,000, resulting in savings of 76% for the Q method and 57% for the P method. Keywords: Soap Noodle, Method Q, Method P, Optimal Supply, Total Cost. PT. XYZ merupakan salah satu perusahaan yang bergerak dibidang kosmetik, khususnya sabun batang. Perusahaan ini memproduksi sabun beauty, fruity, laundry dan multipurpose soap. Pembuatan produk tersebut, dibutuhkan soap noodle yang merupakan bahan baku utama dalam pembuatan sabun batang. Salah satu jenis soap noodle yang sering mengalami masalah yaitu S70. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memperoleh kondisi optimal pengendalian persediaan dari hasil perbandingan Metode Q dan Metode P menggunakan kriteria total cost. Hasil ananlisis mengguakan metode Q diperoleh sebesar Rp720,855,500 dengan frekuensi pemesanan sebanyak 18 kali pemesanan sementara jika menggunakan metode P total cost persediaan selama satu tahun sebesar Rp541,887,000 dengan frekuensi pemesanan sebanyak 21 kali pemesanan. Jika dibandingkan dengan kondisi exsisting perusahaan dimana total biaya persediaan selama satu tahun sebesar Rp938,419,000 maka dihasilkan penghematan sebeesar 76 %untuk metode Q dan 57 % untuk metode P.
