Abstract

The transition from high school to college for students in their first semester often creates changes and pressures for them because they are in a new environment. The problems that exist in tertiary institutions shape their perceptions and affect the process of learning activities or student selfregulated learning. This study aims to determine whether there is an influence of emotional intelligence and time management on self-regulated learning in semester 1 students. The research design used is using multiple linear regression. The subjects in this study were first semester students of the Faculty of Psychology, Mercu Buana University. The researcher conducted a validity and reliability test by obtaining Cronbach's Alpha results on a selfregulated learning scale of 0.941 with 27 items, then Cronbach's Alpha on an emotional intelligence scale of 0.898 with 35 of 37 items and a Cronbach's Alpha value on a time management scale of 0.896 with 21 items of 26 items. The results of the F test variable emotional intelligence and time management on self-regulated learning show a significance value of 0.000. The results of the study show that emotional intelligence and time management affect student self-regulated learning both one-on-one and simultaneously Keywords: Emotional Intelligence, Time Management, Self Regulated Learning Transisi dari SMA/SMK/Sederajat ke perguruan tinggi pada mahasiswa semester awal sering kali menimbulkan perubahan dan tekanan bagi mereka karena ada pada lingkungan baru. Permasalahan yang terdapat di perguruan tinggi membentuk persepsi mereka dan berpengaruh pada proses kegiatan pembelajaran atau self regulated learning mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh kecerdasan emosional dan manajemen waktu terhadap self regulated learning pada mahasiswa semester 1. Desain penelitian yang digunakan yaitu menggunakan regresi linear berganda. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester 1 fakultas Psikologi Universitas Mercu Buana. Peneliti melakukan uji validitas dan reliabilitas dengan memperoleh hasil Cronbach’s Alpha pada skala self regulated learning sebesar 0,941 dengan item sebanyak 27 item, lalu Cronbach’s Alpha pada skala kecerdasan emosional 0,898 dengan 35 dari 37 item dan nilai Cronbach’s Alpha skala manajemen waktu sebesar 0,896 dengan item sebanyak 21 dari 26 item. Hasil uji F variabel kecerdasan emosional dan manajemen waktu terhadap self regulated learning menunjukan nilai signifikansi 0,000. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kecerdasan emosional dan manajemen waktu memengaruhi self regulated learning mahasiswa baik secara satu-persatu maupun secara simultan atau bersamaan.
