Abstract

PT. United Can Company, Ltd. is one of the companies engaged in the manufacturing of metal packaging since 1975, located in Jakarta. Market demand continues to increase making the company continues to grow rapidly. In 1997/1998 established a department 2pc and was completed in November 1998. The existence of this line further enhance the progress of this company. This 2pc department 2pc cans dominate the market in the country. 2-PC can increasingly progressing with the construction of line 3 to meet the growing demand slim can that is experiencing rapid development in the market in 2005. And add 1 line again in 2010 that can produce up to 2000 cans per minute. The addition of this line was also attended by a wide range of engine support, as well as switch machines that are no longer productive with the new machine. The aim of this study is to report on how the production process in the department 2-PC Can in detail. There are 5 stages in the manufacturing process of cans 2-Pc Front End is the Establishment cup, forming a can body, Process Trimming, washing, Palletizer and Depalletizer. While the process of making the back end there are 11 stages include: Application base color, decoration Applications cans, spraying laquer, Oven Dryer, Waxing, Body Necker, Necker Spin, Tester, palletizing, Strapping, Wrapping. Keywords: Production Process PT. United Can Company, Ltd adalah salah satu perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang Kemasan logam manufacturing sejak tahun 1975 yang berlokasi di Jakarta. Permintaan pasar yang terus meningkatkan menjadikan perusahaan ini terus berkembang dengan pesat. Pada tahun 1997/1998 didirikan sebuah departemen 2pc dan selesai pada bulan November 1998. Keberadaan line ini semakin meningkatkan perkembangan kemajuan perusahaan ini. Departemen 2pc ini menguasai pasar kaleng 2pc dalam negeri. 2-PC can semakin mengalami perkembangan dengan dibangunnya line 3 untuk memenuhi permintaan slim can yang sedang mengalami perkembangan pesat dipasaran pada tahun 2005. Dan menambah 1 line lagi di tahun 2010 yang mampu memproduksi kaleng hingga 2000 can per minute. Penambahan line ini juga diikuti dengan berbagai mesin pendukung, serta mengganti mesin – mesin yang tidak lagi produktif dengan mesin – mesin baru. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melaporkan bagaimana proses produksi di departemen 2-PC Can secara detail. Ada 5 tahapan dalam proses pembuatan kaleng 2-Pc Front End yaitu Pembentukan cup, pembentukan Body kaleng, Proses Trimming, washing, Palletizer dan depalletizer. Sedangkan proses pembuatan back end ada 11 tahapan meliputi : Aplikasi warna dasar, Aplikasi dekorasi kaleng, penyemprotan laquer, Oven pengering, Waxing, Body necker, Spin Necker, Tester, Palletizing, Strapping, Wrapping.
