Abstract

This study aims to see whether there is an effect of self-esteem on anxiety in facing the world of work in 12th grade high school students in Tangerang city. This study used quantitative regression methods with the sampling technique used, namely convenience sampling. 180 12th grade high school students in the city of Tangerang became participants in this study by filling out a questionnaire via the Google form link. The instrument used in this study was the Anxiety Scale for Facing the World of Work compiled by Nugroho (2010) based on the aspects put forward by Greenberger and Padesky (1995) and to measure self-esteem the scale used was the Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale (RSES). The regression test was carried out using the simple linear regression method with the results showing that self-esteem has a significantly negative effect on anxiety in facing the world of work in grade 12 high school students in the city of Tangerang. The higher the self-esteem of grade 12 high school students in Tangerang city, the lower the anxiety in facing the world of work of grade 12 high school students in Tangerang city, and the lower the self-esteem of grade 12 high school students in Tangerang city, the higher the anxiety in facing the world of work of high school students. 12 in the city of Tangerang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat apakah terdapat pengaruh harga diri terhadap kecemasan menghadapi dunia kerja pada siswa SMA kleas 12 di kota Tangerang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif regresi dengan teknik sampling yang digunakan yaitu convenience sampling. 180 siswa SMA kelas 12 yang ada di kota Tangerang menjadi partisipan pada penelitian ini dengan mengisi kuesioner melalui tautan google form. Instrument yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah skala Kecemasan Menghadapi Dunia Kerja yang disusun oleh Nugroho (2010) berdasarkan aspek-aspek yang dikemukakan oleh Greenberger dan Padesky (1995) dan untuk mengukur harga diri skala yang digunakan adalah Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale (RSES). Uji regresi dilakukan dengan metode regresi linier sederhana dengan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa harga diri memiliki pengaruh negatif secara signifikan terhadap kecemasan menghadapi dunia kerja pada siswa SMA kelas 12 di kota Tangerang. Semakin tinggi harga diri siswa SMA kelas 12 di kota Tangerang maka semakin rendah kecemasan dalam menghadapi dunia kerja siswa SMA kelas 12 di kota Tangerang, begitupun sebaliknya.
