Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence on prosocial behavior in sales promotion in Mall Puri Indah, West Jakarta. This study uses a quantitative approach. The population sample in this study was sales promotion at Puri Indah Mall with 79 people, aged 20-40 years and working for less than 1 year to more than 2 years. The sampling technique used in this study uses purposive sampling technique. Measuring instruments used to collect data are emotional intelligence scale (valid, a = 0.877) and prosocial scale (valid, a = 0.864). The analysis used uses Sperman correlation analysis. The results of data analysis showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between emotional intelligence and prosocial behavior (r = 0.235; p = 0.000). These results indicate that the higher the level of emotional intelligence this will affect the prosocial attitude of the sales promotion. Keywords: Emotional Intelligence, Prosocial Behavior, Sales Promotion Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kecerdasan emosi terhadap perilaku prososial pada sales promotion di Mall Puri Indah kawasan Jakarta Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel populasi pada penelitian ini adalah sales promotion di Mall Puri Indah sebanyak 79 orang, dengan usia 20-40 tahun dan lama bekerja kurang dari 1 tahun sampai 2 tahun lebih. Teknik sampling yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik Purposive Sampling. Alat ukur yang yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data yaitu skala kecerdasan emosi (valid, a =0,877 ) dan skala prososial (valid, a =0,864). Analisis yang digunakan menggunakan analisis korelasi Sperman. Hasil analisis data menunjukan ada hubungan positif dan signifikan antara kecerdasan emosi terhadap perilaku prososial (r =0,235; p=0,000). Hasil ini menunjukan bahwa semakin tingkat kecerdasan emosi yang tinggi maka hal ini akan mempengaruhi sikap prososial para sales promosi tersebut.
