Abstract

This study aims to determine de description of process forgiveness in early adulthood women who experienced sexual assault in their childhood. This study used qualitative research, the methods that were used in this research is gathering information regarding the process of forgiveness in early adulthood women around 18 - 40 years old. There are five participants in this research, they are NDN, JSY, FH, JMS, and NVH. Data Collection techniques that were used are general observation and interview guidelines by observing the subject in the interview. The triangulation in this research are the source of data and methods. The result of this research has shown that two subjects had revenge motivation and three subjects have benevolence motivation. The process of forgiveness for two subjects, they were still not being able to forgive, one subject is still looking for the reason to forgive but decided to forgive herself, and the other two were already forgiving the perpetrator. Keywords: process of forgiveness, sexual assault on children Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran proses memaafkan pada wanita dewasa awal yang mengalami kekerasan seksual di masa kecilnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif, metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan mengumpulkan informasi mengenai proses memaafkan pada wanita dewasa awal usia 18 - 40 tahun. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah lima orang, yaitu NDN, JSY, FH, JMS, dan NVH. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi umum dan pedoman wawancara dengan cara mengamati subjek dalam wawancara. Triangulasi dalam penelitian ini adalah sumber data dan metode. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dua subjek memiliki motivasi balas dendam dan tiga subjek memiliki motivasi berbuat baik. Proses pengampunan untuk dua subjek masih belum bisa memaafkan, satu subjek masih mencari alasan untuk memaafkan tetapi memutuskan untuk memaafkan dirinya sendiri, dan dua lainnya sudah memaafkan pelaku.
