Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of father involvement on self-esteem in early adulthood. This study uses quantitative methods. The scale used in this study is the father involvement scale modified by Risnawati et al. (2021) based on the theory of Gancy and Van Dulman and the self-esteem scale of Rosenberg modified by Maroqi (2019). This study involved women and men aged 18-25 years who still live with their father. In this study found the number of respondents as much as 188 respondents. In this study using accidental sampling technique. The results of the study using a simple regression test showed that there was a significant effect of 0.000 with an R square of 0.240, so it can be stated positively between father involvement on self-esteem in early adulthood. Keywords: father involvement, self-esteem, early adulthood, parenting Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh father involvement terhadap selfesteem pada dewasa awal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Skala yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu skala father involvement yang dimodifikasi oleh Risnawati dkk. (2021) berdasarkan teori Goncy dan Van Dulman dan skala self-esteem dari Rosenberg yang dimodifikasi oleh Maroqi (2019). Penelitian ini melibatkan perempuan dan laki-laki yang berumur 18-25 tahun yang masih tinggal bersama ayah. Dalam penelitian ini didapati jumlah responden sebanyakan 188 responden. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik accidental sampling. Hasil penelitian menggunakan uji regresi sederhana menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan sebesar 0.000 dengan R square 0.240 maka dapat dinyatakan positif antara father involvement terhadap self-esteem pada dewasa awal.
