Abstract
There is many cultures in Indonesia, one of which is a traditional musical instrument. But along with the progress and development of the times, and the era of globalization, many foreign cultures entered Indonesia. People are more interested in outside cultures. Even though there are many traditional musical instruments that are not yet known, one of them comes from West Java, namely Karinding and Celempung. Both instruments are made of the same basic material, bamboo. Therefore, the authors designed a motion graphic video about traditional musical instruments from bamboo in West Java, namely Karinding and Celempung as a medium that provides information to the public, especially children. With this video, children can find out about Karinding and Celempung, and with the hope that Karinding and Celempung will not be forgotten until they grow up and help preserve Indonesian culture. Key Word: Motion Graphic, Traditional Musical Instruments, Cultural Preservation Banyak budaya yang ada di Indonesia, yang salah satunya adalah alat musik tradisional. Namun seiring dengan kemajuan dan perkembangan zaman, serta era globlasisasi, banyak budaya-budaya luar yang masuk ke negara Indonesia. Masyarakat lebih tertarik dengan budaya luar. Padahal ada banyak alat musik tradisional yang belum diketahui salah satunya berasal dari Jawa Barat, yaitu Karinding dan Celempung. Kedua alat musik tersebut sama-sama terbuat dari bahan dasar yang sama yaitu bambu. Oleh karena itu, penulis merancang video motion graphic tentang alat musik tradisional dari bambu di Jawa Barat, yaitu Karinding dan Celempung sebagai media yang memberikan informasi kepada masyarakat terutama anak-anak. Dengan adanya video ini, anak-anak dapat mengetahui tentang Karinding dan Celempung, serta dengan harapan agar Karinding dan Celempung tidak dilupakan sampai mereka tumbuh dewasa dan turut melestarikan budaya Indonesia. Kata Kunci: Motion Graphic, Alat Musik Tradisional, Pelestarian Budaya.
